Just checked out VCUs roster for the first time. Seems like they have a pretty tall team. I hope we can keep up with them on the boards, I don't want to see a bunch of second chance opportunities for a team like this.
Thanks, '67.
The people who taught me all about the old days
and the Rhody basketball tradition, the Bazar family,
have had seaon tickets since the late 50's!
When I was a kid, Peppy would take me along with his family, and he and his brother
would tell stories about Frank Keaney, and Ernie Calverley, on the way to the games.
I got hooked, while all my friends at Catholic school rooted for PC.
Nice people. Nice memories.
Rod ill be cheering from the closet seats I can find for me and 2 lady friends of mine. Yes, I'm one of those assholes who finds the best open seats available and sits there. I'm renewing my season tickets next season but for now I have a friends who attends uri but not the games so I get the student ticket and go from there.
Hey, BC, lots of empty good seats to move into, this season.
I always look right and see all the better seats that are empty.
Lots of ticket holders disguised as emprty seats.
I sat in the front row of section 110 for the GW game and have been in the 100s or low 200s for every other one. I miss the days where I sat in my season ticket seat and could barely locate any empty blue seas in the arena. Now it seems like there's more empty seats than anything else. I'm just hoping for a solid effort on both sides of the ball tonight. Of course a win would be amazing but it's going to take our best effort and than some for that to happen.

It's not their height, it's the pressure that's tough to beat.

Not sure what you mean by "a team like this" -- but if you dont want to see a bunch of second chance opportunities then I suggest you do not watch tonight's game. It could get ugly.
If you are listening to DH on the pre-game he is confirming what many of us have said about this year's team...he is coaching them uniquely, and almost nothing strategically is likely to be similar next year. He has already said the way we play defense is to make the opponent take the worst shot possible, b/c we dont have the personnel to create turnovers, rebound, etc. Net net, we are not playing the aggressive defense I am sure we will see next year.
Then he said on offense he is running more perimter sets than he ever has because we have no one to throw the ball into in the post and only X that can really take his guy off the dribble. Likely our offense is completely overhauled with next season's personnel.
In short I think its clear we are not playing the Hurley way, probably have barely scratched the surface.
He then said TJ has potential to be a Bruce Bowen type, said he thinks he is our best pure passer and has "really bought in". Mentioned The Big O and Gil in talking about next year. The Big O is the Big X factor next year. If he is a high impact interior player it could really change things.
Laprey said on Twitter 3500...wonder if thats a little generous but either way a good sign.
Now my next question. How can one team have so many issues getting the ball in bounds!! If it was just this one game I would give all the credit to VCU, but its been a theme for weeks now.
Inbouding the ball, for me it is the decision making capability of the inbounder. Even if it someone on the bench, ya bring ,em in if dead ball TO/ allow.
