Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Fordham playing tough at Charlotte, behind only 31-27. Fordham has a 18-17 edge on the boards so far and this does not bode well for URI in a future match-up at Rose Hill given how badly Charlotte beat us on the boards.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Temple gets by GW. GW had the ball and time to tie or go ahead but couldn't do it. 55-53

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
In a close game throughout, La Salle pulled out a hard fought win over Dayton, 72-70. The Flyers dominated the boards but had 24 turnovers as an offset. Both teams shot well from the field and the free throw line. Dayton has now lost its first three A-10 games.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Butler won its 12th straight game with a blow out of Richmond, 62-47. Shades of what URI may experience on its February 2 visit to Hinkle??

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Fordham fought a good fight, but came up short against Charlotte, 74-68. Fordham out rebounded Charlotte 42-30. Charlotte was plagued all night by poor 3 point shooting and poor FT shooting. Chris Gaston had 13 boards, but had a horrible game shooting on 1-12 and 3 points. The Fordham guards had an outstanding shooting night, however, putting in 49 of the Rams 68 points.

Xavier-St. Bonaventure game coming down to the wire, too. Great night of basketball in the A10.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Xavier hangs on, 66-64. Three 2 point games in the conference tonight.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Xavier finally prevails, 66-64 over SBU. The Bonnies played a great game and showed balanced and good shooting all around and good ball control.

yeah i am, it's a great game in OT now, St. Joe's might be in trouble in OT giving up the late lead and losing momentum

St. Joe's had the game. 4 point lead with 11 seconds.
VCU at one point towards the end was 5-26 from 3.
I don't want to play either of these teams.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Bryant won again today.
Overtime thriller vs. Mount Saint Mary's
Funny how Bryant has the best chance at the NCAA's out of any team in Rhode Island this year

Holy shit, what a job by Tim O'Shea! Bryant is 12-4 and 5-0 in the NEC!!!
I'm certainly pulling for O'Shea and this Bryant team.

For whatever it's worth, I hope VCU comes in ranked when we play them on the 30th.

In one other A-10 game last night, UMass beat Duquesne, 79-66. In its previous game UMass lost the services of forward Jesse Morgan who tore his ACL and is out for the rest of season.
With last night’s game, UMass became the last A-10 team to hold their conference home opener and here is a summary of the attendance for all 16 openers sequenced from largest to smallest crowds. There were three sellouts - Dayton, VCU, and St. Joe's.

I hope they make a boatload of money.
Coach Carr is one of the nicest people I've ever met,
and the foundation is a great cause.

First surprise of the day is brewing in Philly where St. Bonaventure has a six point lead, 65-59 over Temple with five minutes left. The Bonnies have led throughout most of the game in an attempt to notch their first win ever at Temple.

Not a good result for URI if it wants to go to Brooklyn.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
The Bonnies get the upset 81-78 on some great three point shooting, 11-18. First conference win for SBU along with their first win at Temple in their last season.

Frankly I think Brooklyn is not in the cards for URI. So far this season URI has provided few surprises.

Re: Week #11- Games of Interest
Temple seems to be vulnerable at home this year. First, Baron and now the Bonnies.

GW defeats UMass, 79-76, before a big crowd at Mullins there to honor Marcus Camby as they retired his number/jersey. The Colonials will be another tough one for URI come next Wednesday.

Attendance at the Mullins: 7143 (capacity 9493)
Honor Camby? Didn't they have to vacate their Final-4 run because of his actions. Didn't he also leave early without ever graduating from UMass? I guess UMass could skip the bobblehead give away for Camby. Jewelry and hookers for the first 2000 undergraduate attendees sporting an asterisk would be more appropriate.

VCU is up 44-18 on Duquesne at the half, at Duquesne.
Now if we're going to win a league game, there's one!

Battle of the Dogs is a great one. Butler down 1 at home with 5 ticks left. Ball in hand coming off a TO.
