Very worthy cause. Inaugural event could become annual.
Get your Teddy Bear to throw onto the Court

South County Radiation, committed to philanthropy for years, also will be providing a co-branded URI water bottle to the first 750 Rams' fans who participate in this initiative.

OK....maybe everyone already knew how this works, but I get amused by strange things sometimes...I called the box office to see how that "toss" part was going to work. I asked the young lady, "How is this thing going to work? If I'm sitting in the third deck, do I just chuck it from there? Because, if that's the case, I don't want to miss that." She went quiet for second, like, 'is he serious?'...and said, 'just a second'. She came back a couple minutes later - laughing - and said, "Yep, wherever you are, you just throw it from there..." I said that had potential to be quite the scene and she laughed and said "oh yeah...."

So....chuck 'em if you got 'em, wherever you are..."

Sorry, I don’t have Mookie’s arm. I’ll throw mine from a lower level.

This has the "WKRP" Turkey Episode written all over it. (only thankfully teddy bears aren't alive)

^ Hilarious.

It should be fine. They're doing a non-perishable items toss at a game down the road...funny, every seat in the last row of the 300's is sold for that one...

I can see people sitting in the 100s and 200s getting pelted in the back of the head by teddy bears coming from the 300s.

I'm guessing those in the front of the 300s might get some of that action, too. That's why there's a premium on last row seats for the non-perishable item toss night. If anyone that gets hit, just rebel and toss them back in the direction they came from. ....such potential. (It helps that I was cruising thru channels last night and saw a few minutes of Animal House)

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Rhode Island Department of Athletics has partnered with South County Radiation to feature the first-ever teddy bear toss at a URI men's basketball game. The inaugural event - which will benefit children on the Behavioral Health Unit at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence - will take place at the Ryan Center, during halftime of the Rams' February 13th game against Richmond.

It's worth going to the game tomorrow night just to see this :D :D :D

Just a great cause for the Hasbro Children's Hospital

Whoever came up with this idea deserved a big bear hug. Fantastic idea. Hope this becomes an annual event

Hopefully nobody throws one of those gigantic ones that weigh about 50 lbs.

the Calgary Hitmen have the best teddy bear tosses for Christmas each year. They do it after the 1st goal and have 25,000+ bears

Good news bad news for those in the lower level. Bad news, I'm sitting in the upper level and am participating. Good news, I have a laser rocket arm and should have no trouble landing the bear on the court

Hopefully the referees will be on the court for that. There are a couple who could use a can of tuna upside the head.

What a fun event that was. And nobody seemed to get seriously injured.

Although I wish that skeevy hippie Golden took a stuffed Great Dane off his 70s Olivia Newton John headband. I shouted "Choke on a bong you dirty hippie!"which amused the teenagers in front of me.
