Yeah, the other two losses in the MAC were vs their likely top opponet for the NCAA bid in canisus and by a couple points in each game. No idea what happened the other night.

I dunno if i would calll them a disapointment, I follow Iona pretty closesly and we all knwe this team was not as good as some recent ones. They still will likely continue the streak of 20 win seasons however, And are at worse co-favorites for the MAAC championship. 110 RPI eve after that monmouth loss is still not bad and could easily get back in the top 100 before selection sunday.

My hope is we win out get a 3 seed or lose a couple and get a 6 and play Iona in round 1 or possibly 2. I see some sites predicting them as 15 seeds and that seems like a pretty tough 15 seed imo.

Big game today for Alabama taking on #15 Tennessee.

Big for URI in a couple ways an Ala win pushes the closer to the tourney while also potentially knocking us up a spot in the poles.

I'm seeing it listed on the A10 Network.
With the Olympic nonsense tying up the NBC networks, our league loses a lot of television. I'm also annoyed at losing the Premier League.

Since we played them, Duquesne has been out of sync. On their home court they are now down to Fordham by 17 points early in the second half!!

Right. Double win. Want Alabama ranking as high as it can get plus knock Tennessee and Rick Barnes out from in front of us.

URI needs a buzzer beater to beat Duquesne. Fordham beats them by 23 points and on the Dukes home court!! Go figure.

I mean it's just a known fact at this point that Fordham is the best Rams team in the A10...

So...Kansas losing would be good, I think...and Baylor was up....now, they're just unraveling.....

Edit: Hard to believe it's even plausible to think that what #10 Kansas does matters to Rhody.
Whether or not it's relevant ... looks like Baylor will weather the storm and then some....

This VaTech Virginia game is a good one. Hokies up 46-45 at the U4.

Free basketball! (And really, if you paid to watch a game in which less than 100 points were scored, you definitely have a right to some free basketball.)

VCU winning is bad for URI. Dayton is fighting to get into top-100, and we play them twice.

Because URI doesn’t play weekend games anymore. Helps us avoid the chaos... right?

I hate seeing volleyball lines on floors in the A10— cough—- Davidson —— cough cough. Even though the rest of Belk is respectable on TV.

The win knocks Radford a full 3 games back of UNC-A. Winthrop won at High Point to keep pace one game back of UNC-A. The Big South is now essentially a two team race. Winthrop consists UNC-A next week.

Seton Hall and Virginia losses were the two bad outcomes of the day. Virginia was a lock on getting the #1 ranking if they had beaten Virginia Tech. No sure things in college BB.

Nice win by Alabama in its rout over Tennessee.

Nevada got back on track in an easily win over San Diego State, 83-58.

Florida Gulf Coast clinched the A-Sun title with a win over SC Upstate, 88-71. First school to do that this season.

Iona won over St. Peter's, 86-77, to retain 3rd place in MAAC.

Even two lowest ranked OOC opponents - Brown and Holy Cross both won.

And, of course, the Friars were thoroughly spanked by lowly DePail and on their home court nonetheless. It's time for Friar fans to stop worrying about whether Hurley leaves or not and concentrate on the state of their own team and coach.

PC dropped 19 positions in Live RPI with this lost all the way down to #44 following the 17 point loss to Depaul

RPIForecast had PC to win by 9.6 points with a 81% chance to win. Vegas has PC favored by 7 on their Home Court

DePaul had lost 6 of their last 7 games

Lesson for rankings:
Don't lose at Home
Don't get blown out at Home by the last place team in your league

For the record, margin of victory/defeat does not factor into RPI. It obviously would have been better for PC if they had won, but the way RPI works they likely would have been hurt just by playing DePaul - losing just made it worse.

Yes, losing this game made the drop much worse, going from #25 to #44 is a huge drop.

In Top 25 action:

#20 Michigan at Wisconsin. 1 PM. On CBS.

#6 Cincinnati at SMU. 4 PM. On ESPN.

#9 Duke at Georgia Tech. 6 PM. On ESPN.
