in the first time i can remember. uri has the dayton fans leaving to avoid traffic. this is sooo much more fun then the first 16 years or so of my uri fandom...

Great game by Akele too, he made a lot of plays other than putting up 9.

JT didn't even have to assert himself in the last 10 minutes.
Should be conference player of the week.
Probably the front runner for player of the year.

We have so much poise and balance.

Unlike previous years this team makes layups and foul shots.

Combine that with senior leadership, waves of talent and at times elite D and you have the formula for crushing conference foes.

our guards all seem to do all the little things so so well. Stan's defensive rotation is so impressive he must take 3 charges a game

With Mathews we have only lost the Nevada game. 10-1 with him. at this point Terrell is numero uno, but the mathews 1B is important to pick up the slack on a bad day for terrell. With Mathews I say we would have beaten Alabama. Have to be top 25 this week.

Due to a series of several unfortunate events I was unable to watch much. Listened to most of the first half on the radio, followed by the last 3 minutes of the first half and had to turn it off with them leading 58-51 at the U16. Thankfully it's recorded and I'm looking forward to watching the whole thing later.

I would love to know how many teams’ 6th guard is as good as Fatts.

Our backcourt is so damn deep.

When I entered the prediction contest I figured this would be a loss, considering Dayton's home court advantage. Now I'm thinking that we do have a realistic shot at running the table, as long as we stay healthy. These guys are unflappable, even when Dayton had a run in the first half to take the lead. I'm throwing ALL of my expectations out. This is uncharted territory for Ram fans.

It's early in the day, but this win jumped us in kenpom from 34 to 29

Absolutely HAS to be Top 25. It is not even a question, just a matter of how high.
If Kevin Mac doesn't vote for URI I could care less.
I'm watching Kevin MacNamara and Bill Reynolds at their courtside table seats right by Ed Cooley as always at the PC Creighton Game

But for sure 15-3 (7-0) is Top 25 material.

For what it's worth, @RhodyTickets on Twitter confirmed that there are mainly only singles left for the Duquesne game in the 100/200 level. The 300 level is also sparse (most non singles are in the endzones). See this tweet thread (which I did initially post in a response to Jim Donaldson's tweet).:

We are currently witnessing something very special. I have followed Rhody hoops since 1978. I have never seen Rhody dominate its league partners for such a stretch. URI has now won FIFTEEN straight games over A-10 opponents going back to last year. Only six of these games took place in Kingston. Not only have these been wins, they have typically been by significant margins. The average margin has been thirteen points for the last fifteen games. Only four of these games were by less than double digits. This is something that has not happened to Rhode Island basketball since the days of Frank Keaney. Savor this. I suggest you get your tickets for the remaining home games as this is something you might never see again. My guess is that there will be few empty seats, if any, for the remaining five home games.

RF1, the closest to this might be 1988, in which, they went 14-0 in the regular season vs. teams not named Temple and Duquesne (0-4 vs. those two). Counting the A10 tourney, it was 16-5 total, including 3 hard fought wins vs. West Virginia (2 at Morgontown). That said, I don't remember anything like this season!

Can't wait to watch the replay tonight and go to at least 3 of the last 5 home games.

I might have to find the history book, but one of the Projo writers sent out a tweet earlier today saying we are going to have to go back to the Keaney Era (coach not gym) to find similar stats in URI history

What a great comment by Danny so very true. These guys are the essence of a "team". Very unselfish and all know and accept their roles for what's best for the team. Not only are they very talented but also but bunch of high level character young men.

Jarvis had a great game, 7 assists in 20 minutes. He made some gorgeous passes.
