pivotal key game

ST BONA will be playing w/ alot of desperation to get them back into the mix

we need our A-game right from the start for this one

An example of how far our program has come in 5 years.....the last time the Bonnies won here was in Feb. 2013. As Ace points out on twitter, our starting lineup that night was Malesevic, Hare, Malone, Powell and Munford.

Also can’t wait till tomorrow. We will wear them down with our depth. It’s good to see how berry and Cyril pick each other up when the other has an off night. Let’s make some noise. Win and they will come!

For this URI team, I feel like home court advantage with a large crowd can't be stressed enough. I think the crowd will play HUGE. Sounds simplistic I know...

Reading some of the comments on the Bonnie's message board, they are not a fan of Hurley. Seems everyone has grown tired of his sideline antics and they tend to feel the officiating will tilt in their favor as a result. You hope that won't be the case since we're playing at home, but you never know with the questionable A-10 officiating.

Berry is very much a rhythm choreographed act to me. If the plays happen the way he has practiced with those runners in the lane or the quick lay ups diving by the basket he becomes lethal. When he gets in foul trouble or something that is when his system gets gummed up. I've always been a Berry guy but now I view him more of a good if he has it going but not necessarily needed.

Hopefully tmrw Terrell and EC march ahead toward A10 First Team status.

I'm not suggesting that anyone needs to give a shit, I'm simply sharing some feedback from their fan base. And in reality, I often get tired of his sideline antics as well. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us at a critical moment this season.

This year has been the best year for refs at URI in 20 years. Very fair overall.

I love this narrative.

Dan is the boogeyman even though he's not even close to the demonstrative sideline performer he was a few years ago.

Good. Hate our coach. Hate his antics. Enjoy looking up at us in the standings since we'll be running this conference for the foreseeable future*

Probably because this is the first year the A10 is depending on URI to get a good seed and go far in the tournament since no one else will.

Ew. 3rd post in a row but I've got a break right now and throw something actually related to the game itself out there:

How much 5 guard do we see?

According to RR's Q&A with the St Bonnies blogger, they have next to nothing inside, their best forward only plays about 12 minutes. To me that means 1 of 2 things:

Get Berry the ball to dominate inside all game.

OR

Play to your strengths. Run Jeff, Jarvis, Jared, EC, and Stan out there for spurts, mixing Fatts in, and wear them down to nothing.

I haven't seen a ton of 5-guard since the PC game, but this might be a chance to put it out there.

I predict the first couple of half court possessions will be to get the ball down low to Berry to see what he can do.

Might be easier said than done. Bonnies may not have much size but from the games I've watched they look pretty good on defense when they're playing zone which always seems to give us trouble. If and when they go to zone I'd like to see Stan be the guy who goes to the free throw line to try and open their defense up.

I believe this will be a game where Cyril will be the guy instead of berry. I think URI will want to play fast and tight D, idk how Berry will fare in this matchup. URI heavily relies on hedging the screens during the pick and roll. When Cyril isn't in foul trouble he hedges good and is quick enough to get back defensively to cover the roll. Both will be needed but, Cyril needs a big day on the boards at home like he's been doing.

I've never understood why people don't do that anyway. It aggravates the hell out of me to see empty seats that I know are sold, like the many I see in the 100 sections.

So who is going to get the start? Will it be Berry and Langevine and we go big to start? Or will it be the 4 guards and Berry for offense? Maybe the 4 guards and Langevine for defense? Man, it's nice to have three variable starting lineups that all work.

I was there for the Season Opener and it wasn't anything special and I was even in the Presidential Suite because of my old man, and I've been to a ton more of other games over the yrs too, it doesn't remotely come close to the RC!! Rhody does play well at home but i just relate that to them obviously liking to stay home and them being familiar with their court.
