I don't think that trey at the buzzer counted.

Someone should tell ESPN. They have it as 43-28.

Update: they fixed it.

Anderson hit a 3 at the buzzer to make it 43-28, they waived it off saying it came after the buzzer. Was not a mistake by ESPN, simply timing. So really 40-28.
Cartwright is not playing. They are saying he hurt his ankle back in the BC game.

Friars get a gift charge call and then they let Brown steal it and the guy gets fouled taking a 3.

Bears should be down 2 with 28.1 left.

not that it matters to us in terms of opponents, but Florida is in full melt down mode after getting up to #5.

2 straight losses with the latest being at home to Loyola-Chicago in a game they failed to score 60pts...and they have to go to Cincy next.

Wednesday results in the A-10 ended up at 6-4.

Besides the URI loss to Alabama, Fordham, after leading most of the way, choked in its game with Harvard, 47-45. Fordham allowed a 8-0 Harvard run in the final minute capped by Harvard hitting a 3-pointer with 9 seconds left.

Also, Richmond with a slim halftime lead, faltered in the second half to lose at Old Dominion, 79-60. The Spiders now sport a 1-8 record.

George Mason blew at 10 point halftime lead and lost on their home court to William & Mary, 77-70.

The best win of the evening was George Washington beating Ivy favorite Princeton, 71-60. The teams traded the lead in the first half, but it was all GW in second half.

Thursday night action is sparse, only game is Drexel at La Salle. 7 PM.

That the league is having a tough time in the OOC with performance is even further mirrored in its attendance figures. Seven of last night's A-10 games were held at home and the respective attendance figures for each:

Dayton -12,976
George Mason - 3,406
GW - 2,004
UMass - 2,395
Saint Louis - 5,633
Fordham - 1,012
Duquesne - 1,191

Yes, URI can do better on attendance, but our history has not been as bad as some other conference members.

Another downer for the A-10 as Drexel, not a member of Philly's Big Five, hands La Salle a 72-70 loss. Drexel put in the first basket after the tip-off and led for the entire game with a lead as large as 13 points before La Salle rallied to close the deficit to two points, but the Explorers could not get further.

He really has perfected the disgruntled Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to end his media availability when he’s fed up with talking-

Drexel won last night with just 7 scholarship players. La Salle is a confusing team this season. Sammy Mojica (out of MA and Brimmer and May) is playing well for Drexel, after almost transferring over the summer.

Yep 2009!

Monty still remains the most athletic player I've seen in Keaney.

I think he averaged like 30 points 16 rebounds his first few years playing professionally in Luxembourg and Finland.

No A-10 action on Friday evening .

An interesting event is the the second annual Basketball Hall of Fame Classic being held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. This unique, one-day triple header features:

Game #1 - St. John’s vs. 7-0 #16 Arizona State. 8 PM. PAC12 Network.

Game #2 - Oklahoma vs. #25 USC. 10:30 PM. On ESPN2.

Game #3 - #22 Nevada vs. 9-0 #20 TCU. 1 AM. On ESPNU.

Nevada not looking quite as good away from home not getting every foul call. We would have beaten them at the Ryan center.

Although as the game has progressed the inside players TCU has to block shots is the difference. It is a neutral court, but still seems to be favoring TCU. this is a TCU win

Nevada becomes TCU's 15 straight victim as the Horned Frogs win 84-80 in a game they led all the way. After winning its first eight games, Nevada has lost its last two and most certainly will fall out of the polls. The URI win remains their best victory to date. For Nevada to win the Mountain West, the Wolfpack has to get by Boise State. Here's rooting for them to do just that.

Yea heres a thought after seeing that Ulmer video, why the hell doesn’t anyone on this team dunk the ball besides a fast break, and I haven’t seen an alley oop in five years. Is Hurley coaching them that way?

That might change next year with the quality size we'll have.

Although they could do it with Preston at some point this season....maybe

If you get to the game early and watch warmups, you'll see a lot of guys trying some crazy dunks. Yet, you're right, we're a team that never dunks. I'm thinking they should be practicing layups (with some defensive pressure on them) rather than crazy dunks.

A lot of top 10 teams have fallen this week. The common theme is final exams week, and with the most of the top tier of college basketball teams being freshmen/sophomore led, this is may be the first time going through that experience. Also, it was Duke's first TRUE road game (and first for many of the players as well). That has a huge impact too.

It has everything to do with road games and little to do with exams week. The other team has exams too, unless you think exams are harder on basketball players at Top 10 schools than at other schools...I'd say its actually the opposite, the Top 10 schools have all the benefits and accouturements set up to make things easier on the athlete.

You're definitely right that the first true road games of the season for a lot of these teams is the biggest factor. Point I was making is that a lot of these top 10 teams are loaded with freshmen (who in all likelyhood don't even care about exams in the 1 and done era), but haven't been through this experience before. Fraschilla/Greenberg both brought it up this week.
