THE EARLY LINE U R I VS BROWN

Unread post by luke »

The opening line on this game is URI - 19 1/2. would like to see extended minutes for Lassard and Tersea.
Hopefully they can win fairly easily. I don't care if they cover the spread or not, just play well.

In 15 games this century URI has lost 2 of them vs Brown and only 3 times have they covered a 19.5 point spread

Seems like a lot of points for URI to cover

I'll be happy with a win, period. I'm not so confident going into this game. Better hope it doesn't become a Free Throw battle as Brown as a team is shooing 78% from the Line. Brandon Anderson can score, can't let their shooters get hot.
I would not touch 19.5 points, not even 10 points.

as you said Luke, opened at -19 1/2. Vegasinsider now has 5 at - 20 1/2 and 1 at - 20 points

A lot of points.

The numbers say Brown is the worst team we'll play all season, but the games don't usually play out that way.

If we play with intensity we'll win fairly easily, but will we?

It is tied to the percentage of money in either direction. In Vegas, point spread bets are almost always at -110 (for both sides). If Vegas can get the money to be 50/50 with both bets at -110 odds, the casino makes their profit since neither side will pay even money.

I'm not sure what you can read into these games when it comes to point spread. How many times during this stretch did we have a team as good as this one?

URI had a pretty good team last year and ONLY beat Brown in Kingston by a score of 79-72. My guess is the point spread was much more than 7.

i'm thinking the spread is a bit much. Confident Rhody handles business but thinking more in the area of 10-15 pt margin

not much confidence on the Board vs this spread which is now up to as much as URI - 20 1/2. i have
to agree that the spread sounds large. However, I wouldn't go against the spread either because Rhody
has been playing well even against lesser opponents, something they haven't always done in the past. So
I would caution against playing this game for betting purposes. I do expect a win, but as was said, in
the 10-15 point range.

Last year URI was favored by 21 1/2 points and won by 7. With Iverson, Martin, Langevine and Mathews

I would not go near this game as a better and as I said I’ll be happy with a win.
