I was going to say for the PC game, given rivalry, rare year with both teams potentially ranked in Top 25, and the early evening start time would make it ideal. Except that game is scheduled to be carried by CBSSN.

Yeah, kinda need the game to be on ESPN the day you have Gameday on campus, and the game has to be on a Saturday, right? We don't have any of those. We're on virtually every Friday night on ESPN2 in February, hosting two of those.

Who were the "many" that were fooled? I'm counting you, apparently, and maybe the guy who started the other thread. The kid has a blog he's trying to promote and tweeted a teaser for it. I don't see what is harmful or unusual about that.

Not to mention, the big news can't be ESPN Gameday for the PC game, since the actual big news is that PC is forfeiting the game.

Exactly. The kid is a URI student and a great Rhody fan. He has his own website and he is also the one who contributes to A10Talk on twitter. I applaud him for that. He doesn't have any info on what goes behind closed doors at the RC. He might give you some info on something he sees on campus such as the fact he saw Jalen Lindsey and Makai Ashton-Langford at the rap concert a few weeks back at the RC. Was that at all related to the incident? Who knows. He just said he saw them there. But, he is a great fan, just as we are. We need more like him.

Aaah. How did I miss that. I wonder how flexible that 11am start is. I bet ESPN can flex start times. We have seen it before when they own the rights to multiple games on the same day.

I believe that is the divisional playoff round in the NFL, which means there will be two (presumably) great pro football games on Saturday, potentially featuring the Patriots. An early start time is likely key to getting any kind of attendance for the game at all.

Aren't Saturday playoff games set to start at 4 and then 8pm?

Since the game is set to be televised, start time was probably dictated by ESPN.

If college game day is coming to Kingston, I'm painting my face and torso.

You are exactly right. Runnin Rhody did a teaser on twitter to promote his own article that he was coming out with the next day. BUT, what you are saying is easy to say the next day after the article comes out.

Then later, this separate thread got eliminated and merged into the "Big News Forthcoming???" Thread. I am assuming you moved it or someone else with the power to modify/move stuff here. Wouldn't moving that thread infer that the person moving it was "fooled" also? Why move it to theBirdmanjrjr thread if one did not think it was associated with the BIG NEWS? Or maybe Rhody83 cancelled his own thread and put it in "Big News Forthcoming???" Doesn't really matter who did it.

Look at Runnin Rhody's twitter also and you will see responses thinking there was, in fact, news coming out, and did not think it was just an article he had written that would be coming out the next day. How many here thought it was an article coming out versus more twitter banter about theBirdmanjrjr "Big News Forthcoming???"

I hear you in all of that, and obviously I'm not saying you're stupid. But I have a couple questions.

First, who cares? Let's say it's reasonable that people misinterpreted the tweet - so what? What is the harm? Ultimately we found out what it was about and I don't believe anyone was injured by it.

Second, what do you want us to do about it? We don't control twitter. He can tweet whatever he wants.

For what it's worth, I didn't move the post, but I don't see a problem with doing so, either. It seems you are particularly obsessed with the micromanagement of the board. Maybe just worry about that stuff a little less - no reason to get worked up about it.

Needs to be some guidelines around how things that people can't talk about...get talked about...
