Akele is a stretch 4 who is only a bench guy. I really don't want him playing more than 12 minutes a night

I have hopes for Preston to be the starting 4 but you guys have seen him I have not

Preston is key to our living up to our potential. 10 points 6 rebounds, 1.5 assists

My take away...............not what we will see when the season starts.

The good -
Langevine's footwork
Akele's aggressive rebounding
Russell's polish going to the hoop. His harassing defense.
Terrell as usual, was "the man"
Garrett looked healthy
Ryan will be able to help

The less than good -
Berry is not ready for primetime. Not seeing Tertsea play was puzzling.
Dowtin, Robinson, and Akele were not very good offensively
Russell's wild shots
Langevine's and Berry's fouling will be a problem.

Overall, a lot to work on. Team defense needs work. We didn't defend the three well.

An after thought...............my cruchtime, "finishing five"

3 guard - Garrett, Terrell, E.C, Langevine [if he hasn't fouled out], Akele or Ryan.
4 guard - Garrett or Russell, Terrell, E.C., Robinson or Dowtin, Langevine [if he hasn't fouled out]

I think we will see an eight man rotation, or nine if Langevine is in foul trouble.

Any particular reason you have Garrett in on a three guard lineup but only a maybe in the four guard? What do you do in a four guard if Langevine has fouled out?

JG will be our starting point guard--take it to the bank. He has regained the 15-20 pounds he lost last year and looks like a totally different (and better) player.

RR02...................I think they both will play in a four guard set. FATTS moves the ball toward the hoop more, where Garrett usually finds screens to come off. Both played well with Dowtin/Terrell as the 2-3, but Dowtin couldn't find his shot yesterday. Buffalo's defense was stellar.
