Was always impressed with Eric, especially after reading that story where he breaks down film so URi players know the favorite and likely moves of who they will be covering.

So, what's the full story about Carr? He didn't produce, recruiting wise? ?? Or another reason?

Only rumor, but supposedly in trying to negotiate a
raise, used going to another job he was offered, as
leverage.
Except that job offer didn't exist.
This lead to his dismissal.
So, to avoid embarassing him with this,
everyone is silent on the matter.

I think the correct legal term would be something along the lines of "administrative leave with pay". With an understanding that there will not be a renewal of his contract. I was told he was not fired. But wow, those tweets :o

If he wasn't fired those tweets seem ill-advised. If they were still paying him, I'm not sure I would assume they will keep paying him after that.

Dangerous and easily disproven.
His tRUMPian tweet storm is bizarre,
to say the least.

Honestly, I can understand the temptation on his part. It sucks to get canned, I'm sure he is very frustrated and feels like he wasn't treated fairly (everyone in that situation feels that way even if it isn't true). By all accounts, his is a good, well-liked guy, too. But this is just a case of someone's emotions getting the best of them and acting with their heart and not their head. Hate to see someone make a bad situation worse.

Bringing this over from the coach's discussion, as it probably fits better here. Sorry if that's confusing.

tough, hard nosed, dirty work type of player that every team needs. Does the little things, contributes in all aspects, brings toughness and hustle.

I really think he steps into the leadership role that Hassan held. Be the heart and glue guy
I agree with this description of Thompson's game and what he can bring to the team. If EC never gets hurt, he's looking at a bigger role for 17-18. He knows well the likely reality for minutes next year, but Rhody is home to him. He has reasons to stay, and I respect the staff for not pushing him out (seems obvious to say but it's not the case across the sport). Within a season of great team success, last year was individually tough for Christion. He dealt with a family member being murdered and, less importantly, two separate injuries on the court.

As for overall rotation, I think we'll again see 10 players average double digit minutes, or at least close to that. Last year, Langevine and Dowtin were identified in the summer as likely contributors during the season, and they certainly met that expectation. Layssard kind of made things difficult for himself from the start. Hopefully, the extra time they have this summer gives the staff a clear picture of what they can eventually expect from Preston.

I always thought Thompson's shot would better with more regular minutes. I certainly like his intensity on defense.

Starters
Dowtin
EC
JT
Cyril
Preston

I like Stan as 6th man instant offense off bench . I seriously doubt DH starts 4 guards

Love this upgrade of Tom Moore to the staff over Carr if it's true

That would be great if he can do that as well as blocking shots and hopefully not getting into foul trouble .
I hope he works on his offense this off season

I think dowtin has to be in the starting 5. They're just way better of a team with him on the court. Shuts down star points, great court vision/passing, and a high percentage shooter. We could use garretts energy off the bench. It's good to have two different types of points, as explained earlier ones a lengthy lockdown defender that's a distributor offensively. And the other is a smaller-faster point that creates for himself no problem, also a good 3pt shooter and at the free throw line. What's scary I adding darron Russel to this group.

Actually, against the press, having both Dowtin and Garrett in would be optimal. I love EC, but his handle is still a weakness.
