Impressive having Adams 3 and Cartwright at 6 . I can't wait to see our guards matchup

Cartwright is a great distributor, and he torched us last year, but like the author inferred the PG position is down this year in college hoops if he is the 6th best nationally.

It's going to be harder rooting against Jaylen, knowing his brother will be a Ram next year.

Have to figure that will get north of 4K by the time Nov 1 gets here.
Add 1,000-1,500 students on a good night and walk-ups/individual game tickets and we should be filling the place often this season.

The stretch from Iona (Dec 21) to Lasalle (January 3) when students are on break and the competition is lightest are likely the hardest tickets to sell.

Program would still greatly benefit from a more robust marketing campaign of the program, beyond hocking tickets, more branding the players and Dan. I'd have a billboard on 95 in providence that said "Changing of the Guard" and featured EC, Jared and Dan. Our stars. Just sayin.

Yes, back in August. That was right before the Bahamas trip. Wanted to see if there was potentially another one later this month as they've done before.

I wish they had a video series for the team.

Just someone walking around campus with each of them and discussing their careers and their perspective/experience so far.

Release them every 3 days to keep interest leading into 11/10.

From a quick glance we will play 16 or 17 (if we play Vandy) of these top 100 scorers. Great schedule put together by our staff.

Daron “Fatts” Russell, Rhode Island: 5-10 and shifty, Russell will bring Philadelphia swagger to New England. Dan Hurley is loaded on the perimeter with veterans like Jeff Dowtin, E.C. Matthews, Jarvis Garrett, Jared Terrell, and Stan Robinson, but there will still be a place in Rhode Island’s rotation for Russell. This kid will have at least one or two games where he makes an Atlantic 10 opponent beyond frustrated.

Seems like a fair ranking for URI to begin the season, yes/no?

Looking at these early rankings makes me appreciate the tough OOC schedule URI has. damn. Also should note, though not surprising, that URI is the only A10 team considered in the rankings. All the more reason why our OOC schedule and hopefully wins vs. those teams will be vital come March.

I'm bullish on the A10 this year.

A lot of turning the page across the league on things that weren't working as well as they would like for teams that weren't doing great. Also injuries and things throwing a wrench in seasons.

But the teams that were doing well return a lot of firepower.

*side not: kind of laughable Mobley from Bonnies gets more press than Jared Terrell, Jared shuts that guy down.

Same with me
And look how 3 of the Top 20 Under the Radar incoming Freshmen are in the A10 for this year PLUS 2018 recruiting for the A10 is looking good too, PLUS some new Head Coaches with potential have joined the A10. It is a good Basketball Conference with upside potential
Jordan Goodwin, Saint Louis: The reclamation project with the Billikens is up and running and Goodwin’s presence is a major reason. Travis Ford was attracted to this 6-4 guard because of his similarities to Marcus Smart and if he winds up being half as good as the former Oklahoma State star then Saint Louis will be one of the top teams in the Atlantic 10 over the next few seasons. Expect this kid to be an instant star at Chafeitz Arena.
Kellan Grady, Davidson: How will Bob McKillop replace Jack Gibbs? Probably not with one man, but there’s a good chance Grady will have a major hand in what the Wildcats do on the perimeter next season and beyond. Many coaches in the Atlantic 10 believe that Davidson could be the conference’s sleeper team next year because of what it returns. If Grady is ready for a major piece of the pie, then things could get really interesting. A big combo guard at 6-4, the Massachusetts native is fluid, smooth, and versatile with his offense.
Daron “Fatts” Russell, Rhode Island: 5-10 and shifty, Russell will bring Philadelphia swagger to New England. Dan Hurley is loaded on the perimeter with veterans like Jeff Dowtin, E.C. Yea I am not so sure that Will Wade was the best thing for VCU.

Then Joes injuries. SLU is going to be something. Many middle of the road teams return their players.

Just across the board it looks like things are going to be up.

Is Matt Mobley the most overrated player in the league?

Scores a ton of points, yes, but also plays a ton of minutes.

Kid did absolutely nothing against us both games.

He isn't in the same stratosphere as EC and Terrell.

Dude's a chucker, or "volume scorer" if you want to put it nicely. He might get 25 points but he'll need 26 shots to do it.
