Substantive. It's a word in the English language. I know some of us went to URI hopefully we understand the meaning.

No one is diminishing or disrespecting Preston. That's a Pat Riley in Kingston level of fiction.

More minutes for Berry? We can only hope for an Andre Berry-Rashaan Holloway extended match-up. Add Jarvis or Fatts running up someone's back to dunk like The Cable Guy, and it will be perfect.

Also,

With Christion and EC out for the Bahamas trip, it will be interesting to see the line-ups, for whatever meaning one can take from those kinds of games.

"No one is diminishing or disrespecting Preston. That's a Pat Riley in Kingston level of fiction."
Really? Seems a now former staff member used to shit talk Preston at every chance he got,
before and after Murphy left for BC.
When he accused me of trying to get him fired, I asked him why he constantly trashed PMurph?
Saying he was overrated, and a "bad guy",among other things.
"So, is that what this is about?" was the response. No denial.
Jealousy is an ugly thing.
Fiction? You don't want to go there with me.

Putting the pieces together here, sounds like Carr wasn't a big Preston Murphy fan.

As for all the nonsense on this thread, Rod knows his stuff and should be a respected poster on this thread. Everybody needs to understand we are all on the SAME team here. Now with that said, let's have a great season ahead!

Thanks,CT Rhody!
Some guy with 10 posts takes a shot,
and somebody else tries to put me in the same
category as SlyWilliamsCaddy.
Yes, when Carr passed a message to a fellow fan to"Tell
Rod from Cranston, he's a fucking asshole",
I told him, if he had a problem with me, I was at countless
events, some where I was mentioned by Dan or Steve McDonald.
I also passed this along to Thorr.
Carr was angry because,"That's my boss!"
He clearly crossed the line. Claimed he never read our board,
but somebody told him.
Claimed his wife and sister were deeply hurt by this.
One of our posters here went back over my posts and said,
the only thing I did suggest was, Carr switch places with Boswell.
Claimed big alums and even PC fans came up to him about my
trying to have him fired.
Karma is a bitch, eh?
As a result, people around the program, who I'd been friendly with,
suddenly went silent.
The sad thing is, not ONE of these people bothered to
get my story of this farce.
Yes, we all are on the same team.
Me? I've been on that team since 1963.
Yet, if I write something some don't agree with,
I'm a PC fan, or some other nonsense.
I even have my own trolls.
Comes with the territory, I guess.

I didn't think I had to clarify that with "people on this message board," as the conversation leading up to that was fairly clear. You've been clear on your feelings towards him since the Watson signing, which is fine. People don't have to like each other for whatever their reasons. And, you know coaches talk and Dan has done whatever he can to support Preston's coaching aspirations, so setting up them in opposition doesn't make sense to me. I don't know Jim Carr, but I doubt he posts here, so not relevant to what I said.

My suspicion has been they haven't been announced because the state budget hasn't been passed, though I haven't been able to prove that being true.

Yeah, Tripp and Tom are there and working, and the others we know (Ty and Eric, Jerrell) have moved into their new roles.

Sorry to hear that about Carr. He always struck me as a decent fellow, but his remarks about Rod were way offbase. Sure, Rod is passionate and sometimes I don't agree with him regarding recruiting strategies or player's abilities. But I've read Rod's stuff long enough to respect everything he says. When it comes to facts, he doesn't bullshit. Let's drop the ad hominem attacks. All it does is depress activity on this board.

The negative stuff that comes out of this coaching staff strikes me as strange.

DH comes off as a very mature person that gets it. Hear some of this Carr or Tirone type stuff and it doesn't match up.

I don't get it.

* Thompson has not been practicing (and now we know why).
* Fatts looks real good (although the story says he's shorter than Jarvis) and Hurley says it will be hard to keep him off the floor.
* They've been watching film of Villanova to install a four-guard lineup. Hurley is confident this will work because they have big guards.
Article is up now, solid piece. The opportunities are certainly there for the bigs, but they need to produce. Interesting comments on both Preston and Berry.

This is to be expected, pc fans are pointing to next year as the year where it should all come together and they win some games in the NCAA tournament. They return all their starters and have a very good recruiting class coming in. Yet, despite this URI will likely get similar pre-season hype and is already being ranked ahead of pc in some 2017 preseason polls. Regardless, its shaping up to be a nice year of college hoops in the state of RI.

I don't know if that's a title they're using anymore, but that could change. Some positions need to be specified, like Jerrell, but they've always been kind of fluid with role allocation.
