At 9:25 Mississippi plays Missouri. (19-12) – The Rebels beat South Carolina at home on Saturday to get into the bubble conversation. At this point they have just two Top 50 wins and a 3-12 mark against the Top 100, but the lack of sub-100 losses works in their favor. Still, they need to get to the SEC Final to have any shot at an at-large.

Does Missouri have won more win in their tank for Kim Anderson who will be let go at the end of the year?

At 9:30 our hated rivals, Providence College take on Preston Murphy and Creighton. (20-11) – The good news is the Friars have six Top 50 wins. The bad news is they’ve lost to St. John’s, DePaul, and Boston College, although an 8-8 mark against the Top 100 helps to offset those blemishes. They play Creighton in the Big East Quarterfinals on Thursday with a chance to move closer to locking up an at-large.

It feels like PC is already definitely in, but I can't say I'd mind them losing here and having their fans sweat it out for a couple days before they get the call.

In the final bubble game of the night, fourth to last in USC takes on crosstown rivals #3 UCLA. (24-8) – A pair of Top 20 wins over UCLA and SMU are fantastic, but there isn’t much else on their profile. They took care of business against Washington in their first Pac-12 Tournament game, but that was just a matter of avoiding a bad loss. USC now gets another shot at UCLA in the Pac-12 Quarterfinals.

Cal beats Utah 78-75, keeping their hopes alive.

Indiana is up on Iowa 75-57 with 9:11 to go. That's a good result so far, but can Indiana play their way back in?

The BIG kahuna is tonight......I'm a rabid Baylor fan.......

Of course, with all of our analysis and talk about this stuff, I think we're getting to the point where we're assuming the committee is thinking the same way we are....and that could be way off....who the hell knows with them.

Remember Dayton a couple years ago? They thought they were safely in....by a LOT....and they ended up the last team in....

This is true enough.. but we are going by several websites, so it is not PURELY our guessing, we have some educated guessing going on. as always the brackets start collapsing, and we are basically in a fight with 4 teams (ILL state, Kstate, Cuse, URI) for 2 slots. teams like iowa, IU,Cal, are all behind these four teams.
Just the way the bubble is breaking this year, I might be shifting from the we have to make the A10 final to, if we make the semifinal, we are probably in. With that said.. WE NEED TO WIN TOMORROW

urirx, I think we have a shot if we win tomorrow and lose Saturday, but not a good one.

I would give it maybe a 25% chance depending on what other bubble teams do....if we get to Sunday and lose, we're at least 75% in......I'd love to say we would be a lock, but that's not how things work with mid majors.

15, I wouldn't agree totally with that....almost everything has broken our way so far......can't expect ALL other bubble teams to lose, but so far all the key games have gone well......of course the biggest one imo is about to start in the B12.......

Of course now we have to do our part, which is the toughest part.

Re: Bubble tracker 2017

so I am going to have the crazy moment...
there are 36 at large, with one at large going to st. Mary's, the rest will go to:
A10(2locks ,1 bubble),
ACC(8,2),
AAC(2,1),
BE(3,4),
B10(6,3),
B12(5,2),
pac12(3,2) ,
SEC(4,1).

So based on most projections there are 34 locked teams, and 16 bubble teams. Unless someone takes a drive unexpectedly through one of these conferences (AAC being the most likely) 8 of those locked bids go to the autobid collection.
That leaves 10 bids for 16 teams- Please note this is 9PM on Friday so TCU has moved to the bubble, and iowa hasn't fallen off)
I feel confident outside of these groups to move vandy (which is sick but life) and seton hall into locks based on the matrix, wins today.
so we are now at 8 slot for 14 teams
Teams that can help themselves (Kstate, URI, TCU, Houston, Prov, USC,Cal, MSU, Xaiver)
Teams that are done (Cuse, Ill,Iowa, Wake forest, Marquette)

Personally, at this point, I think Ill, and Iowa are done unless all the others have a nosedive. so 10 teams left fighting for 6 slots.

With a win tomorrow it's not going to move the needle much in our favor, but at least we won't drop like others have with a loss.

But the way things are going even if we just hold serve so to speak, others are falling off so we might be just on the right side of the bubble going into Saturday.

If there are no bid stealers we might have a shot. So far, it doesn't look like there will be although there are still a few teams that could do it.

Yeah X just needed to beat someone other than DePaul in the last month, and they did that. It's pathetic on Butler's part to lose to a team that probably isn't one of the best 200 teams in the country right now, but they have the resume and they showed the slightest sign of life.

The reality is it doesn't change much for URI. We are still riding the cut line, although it would have been nice to move another team ahead of us back. This K-State game is now everything for URI. If K-State wins you're looking at maybe having to go the distance.

Maybe so TP........can't count on getting in ahead of Syracuse that's for sure.

That's the thing....the teams behind us are losing, but the teams ahead of us aren't. Except for Syracuse, and that might not matter.

Even though K State is currently behind us....I'm not so sure the committee agrees.

Something to think about dept: Of all the bubble teams, only us and Ill. St. are considered mid majors....all others are P5's and the 2 BE teams are now considered locks.

And Ill. State has no shot....that leaves us against all of rest of them.

I think it's more like 8 teams for 3 spots

Vandy, URI, Syracuse, Illinois State, Kansas St, Cal, Georgia, TCU

(bolded teams still playing)

twisted, imo Vandy is in.

Ill. State is the least likely along with Cal and Georgia.

That leaves 4 teams for 2 spots. Us, Syracuse [they shouldn't but you know how that goes], K State, and TCU.

We need K State, TCU, Cal, and Georgia to lose. Pronto.

Baylor sucking early........maybe they want another B12 team in the field......normally I don't believe that but who knows.

You can tell the teams that have their bid and seed wrapped up...they are the ones that are playing like they don't give a shit.

See Butler earlier.

twisted, you're right....but there's no rule that 15 automatically disqualifies you from an at large bid....but there should be.

We've seen the committee make stuff up to favor P5's......just have to wonder what they have up their sleeve this time.

I'm gonna say PC will win. Unless Baylor wakes up, Kstate will win and then amongst P5 bias, we will need to win the A10. Just my gut feeling, it's unfair and a bunch of BS, but might be true. but its MARCH so anything is possible.

TP, actually if we have to win the A10T....I hope they don't.

I would rather play Davidson and Richmond.

However Dayton and VCU will take it seriously...they always do. Dayton hasn't won the A10T yet under Archie. And VCU? They win it, a lot.

Neither one of them will care if the A10 doesn't get 3 bids.
