HASS mention in NY POST

Unread post by ElmCityRhody »

Up: Hassan Martin

This is how a senior season is supposed to end, with a big winning stretch, one stellar performance after another. Staten Island’s Hassan Martin, a 6-foot-7 shot-blocking dynamo, is trying to will Rhode Island to its first NCAA Tournament since 1999, averaging 14 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in the Rams run of nine wins in 11 games. Martin closed his career in Kingston, R.I. in style Saturday, producing a 21-point, 17-rebound effort in a come-from-behind victory over Davidson.

Nice find ECR and thanks for sharing
Nice recognition for Martin in the Stock Up section of the article

I also found this interesting about the A10 in the same article...

Bid Stealers
Keep an eye on the American and the Atlantic 10, quality conferences with only a few tournament locks. If SMU or Cincinnati don’t win the American, or Rhode Island, Dayton or VCU fail to claim the A-10, it could ruin a bubble team’s hopes. The same can be said for late-arriving teams in other power conferences, such as Iowa in the Big Ten. This week isn’t just about No. 1 seeds and the bubble. Bid stealers can change a lot.

The way he is playing right now is the way people play on the teams that make special runs in march. He is a beast. Hope they can get in.
