With wins over USF and Tulsa, Cincinnati moves up to #15 in AP poll and #16 in USA Today poll. On the strength of its big win at Virginia and its seven game win streak, Duke moves to #10 in the AP poll and #11 in the USA Today poll. No other URI OOC opponents are in the rankings or getting votes.
28-0 Gonzaga keeps its hold on the #1 team in both polls and given the Zags remaining schedule, they are likely to hold that position until the NCAA tournament. One remarkable stat is Gonzaga has won 20 straight games by double digits.
The cumulative won-lost record of URI OOC opponents now stands at 191-129, a winning percentage of .597, a small decrease from the previous week. The poor performance of New England teams in addition to Marist - these four schools account for 69 of the 129 losses - has had a big negative impact on the OOC winning percentage.
The past week's bad home loss to Fordham had a bigger impact than the road win over George Mason, so the decline in the key measurements was significant. For the time being, URI's NCAA chances are gone and any change in that assessment including any improvement in these factors will require URI to run the table on its remaining regular season games.
