Yep -- 240 of them.

How many more will be added to that list before we make our next appearance? We're sure as hell not going this year . . . AGAIN.

Also mind boggling!
The school of Frank Keaney and the birthplace
of the fast break.
240 schools and counting.
Calverley,Kraft,Penders,Skinner and Harrick,
ALL took us to the NCAAs in 5 years or less.
But, hey! We've got the hype every year, it seems!
Actions speak louder than words.

At least I don't see Maine, UNH, Dartmouth, Brown, Fairfield and Bryant of the list. We are not alone in New England. Maybe we can beat those schools.

I hope Thorr, DH and company see this list.

Our fan base is aging. How many of our fans are going to die waiting for our next NCAA appearance?

We're turning into the pre-2004 Red Sox. It's the Curse of Jerry Duh.

What's hideous and disgusting is not dancing for 17 years.....and counting.....

It's too "hard" for the current coach and players, that's for sure.

When did JB start making excuses en masse? We're already well into that with DH.....

After this season, it will be...oh JG was sick....Hassan wasn't 100% for a while....neither is EC......

Every failure comes complete with a list of excuses......it took way too long, but URI eventually tired of the excuses and got rid of Baron.....

And they will do the same with Hurley...although it will probably drag on for longer than it should.

We've talked about Fordham and Duquesne being kicked out of the A10 for always sucking....

Maybe the A10 will kick OUR sorry ass out of the league for not contributing one dime to the league kitty due to no dance invites in forever!

I know they won't, but you get the point.

It's worse when you compare URI to the teams in either comparable conferences or conferences considered to be better than the Atlantic 10.

There are 8 other conferences that I either consider to be equal or above the A10 (conferences that most years have at least 3 or more teams considered for at large berths). That's the Big 10, Big 12, ACC, American, Big East, Pac 12, Mountain West and SEC.

Of those 9 conferences there are 111 schools. 102 of those schools have made the tournament since URI last made it, including 11 of the other 13 schools in the Atlantic 10. These are the schools that didn't make the tournament since 1999 in those 9 conferences:

Rhode Island
Fordham
Duquesne
Rutgers
Northwestern
TCU
Tulane
East Carolina
San Jose State

Powerhouses such as Oregon State, St. Bonaventure, La Salle, George Washington, George Mason, DePaul, Nebraska, Penn State, Central Florida, South Florida, Houston, Tulsa, Utah State, Boise State, Nevada, UNLV, Colorado State, Fresno State, Air Force, Wyoming and South Carolina from those conferences have all been in the tournament in that time frame, although George Mason, Central Florida and possibly Utah State were in lower level conferences when they made their appearances.

It really is pathetic.

It's pathetic seeing our name with the 2 doormats of our conference.....it's no consolation to see us better than them right now...bottom line all 3 have in common......barf.

Rod, you are factually correct but you know I'm know I'm going to rain on the Harrick parade. (That's what I do, right?) The 2 team(s) and program that Harrick coached in his 2 years were in much better shape than what the other guys took over(I'd have to dig into Ernie Calverley more however).

Penders took over from Brendan's mess.
Skinner was left with a Herb Dixon/Eric Leslie backcourt.
Kraft took over a team that went 7-18 under Carmody.
Harrick took over a junior/senior laden 20-win NCAA team. Not truly apples-to-apples compared to the other coaches on your list.

But your statement is accurate. Just trying to provide some context to it.

Now that I'm done vomiting over the Dayton loss, I can go to bed.

Skinner also inherited one Kenny Green, the leading shot blocker
in the USA and the best big URI ever had.
Pretty damned good starting point.
Harrick re-tooled URI's offense by taking the ball out of Tyson Wheeler's hands
and putting it in Cuttino Mobley's.
A guy who started 17 games the year before, became an NBA star
because of Jim Harrick.
Don't buy that? Just ask Cat himself.
Easy to denegrate the job Harrick did.
Skinner's last team was one and done in the NCAA.
Harrick took them to an Elite 8. End of story.

If we don't dance this year after being ranked top 25 preseason this takes the cake

If the Rams don't make it this year you can add Northwestern to this list. They just took down Wisconsin and essentially locked up their first bid in school history.
