Didn't play against St. Joe's. Can't imagine him being much of a factor after that injury.
Garrett is closer to being ready to play, but he can't be in game shape at this point.

going to have to brave the elements to get to this game from New Jersey
but I wouldn't miss this one. should be a great game. It would be nice to see
the team put on a show in an important game for a change.
Dayton is not a deep team.....keep attacking the basket...that will wear them down some.....if Cunningham plays he won't be in for long if the pace is quicker.....both teams are good defensively so the pace isn't likely to be too quick though. JC will make them better by the A10T.
Would be great if we could get Pollard and S. Smith in some foul trouble. Especially Schoochie....when he sits they aren't very good. Their backup Crosby has struggled....when he comes in we need to press the crap out of them, we have the depth to do so.

We actually have been getting players in foul trouble. Kind of a new thing. A good development. A bit more makes at the free throw line we would all welcome.
The first game was probably when Garrett was at his worst physically and we saw how Smith went off against him. I think just going from sick Jarvis to Dowtin and pitch count Martin to relatively healthy Martin will be big differences. Hopefully big enough to get the w

The Ry should be electric...can't freekn wait. Hafta say, after seeing them close the deal on two consecutive roadies...faith and optimism are VERY high...

I am optimistic now as well. We were underdogs vs Davidson at the Belk Center and this was the remaining game I was most concerned about. All remaining games we will be favored. UMASS also had me slightly worried but not near as much as Davidson on the road.
So now it's welcome back home and lets beat Dayton by 10+ points
Well...this is it. I think if URI wins they will have hope of making the NCAA tournament. If they lose, I feel it will be yet another nail in their coffin when it comes to beating teams in the top 100...which is what they'll likely need to continue to do in order to make the dance.

We completely lucked out having this game be in between the major storm yesterday and the few smaller ones happening this weekend.
I'm anticipating a big student crowd, as a grad student my friends and I plan to arrive by 5:45 to get the best seats. The rest hinders on a walk up crowd....although a W tonight is what would entice those casual fans to come to the remaining 3 games after this one.
URI has been afforded another chance, time to turn the corner.
......come on Bone.....our house.....our time.....our team peaking now......the bench depth finding their roles.....our coaches time to show he is a big time game coach......out coach Archie.....our Rhody win.....
RPI Live Forecast has URI by 1.8 points and a 57% chance of winning. Our most difficult remaining game at this point in time

Our two toughest remaining games of winning Dayton @ 57% and VCU @ 62% are both at home. Our road games are very winnable with George mason @ 69%, LaSalle @ 67% and St Joseph's @ 71%.

Has anyone been seeing the commercial for this game on t.v.? Saw it a few times yesterday and I have to say it got me pretty pumped for the game. Advertising/Marketing maybe stepping it up?
Red Teams are remaining Away
Green Teams are remaining Home
The standings tell the story. URI (8-3) takes on Dayton (9-2).
There have been radio and TV commercials for the game. It's a shame we have to spend money to promote this game since it really should promote itself.
Huge Game in Mid February
This is what we live for
Doesn't get more exciting than this for a Home game at the Ryan Center. Students should show up in droves. Friday night!!! URI vs Dayton with 1st place in the A10 on the Line. NCAA possible selection on the line for both teams.
VCU 9-2 Dayton 9-2
Rhode Island 8-3
Richmond 8-3
St Bonaventure 7-4 La Salle 7-4 George Mason 6-5 Davidson 5-6
George Washington 4-7 Fordham 4-7 Saint Joseph's 3-8
Saint Louis 3-8

This game and the VCU game are "premium" games. They are more expensive than the other games. I'm not sure if that's a wise move when we're trying to attract casual/new/borderline fans. Would you pay more to see this game if you weren't a hard core fan like we are here?
I am more worried about the guys making shots that Hurley out coaching Miller. If the guys make shots everyone will think that Hurley did his job. If we don't make shots and lose the game it will all be on the coach.

It's the coach's job to put them in position to make shots. If they're getting good looks and not making them, it's on them. If they're not getting good looks, either they're not executing the offense or it's a poor offense. Or sometimes you just have to give credit to the other team's defense.
