We're ranked 316 out of 347 in total fouls. I think it's safe to say we foul a lot. Also anyone who reads into any statistics should be aware of Simpson's paradox. It gives you a good idea of how easily statistics can be manipulated.

I'm out of the country in search of a streaming option. I see that cbs sports network allows you to watch online if you are a Cox subscriber.... but I am not.

Any other options?

I think it was Twisted (?) that posted a link I was able to use in CR. Just clicked on it and it worked from hotel computer, no cox creds required. Was in the St Joes thread....

Don't know what Simpson's paradox is,

All I am doing is showing the foul situation over the last 6 games in Conference where we have won 5 of 6. When the fouls were committed, I don't know. What the situation was before these 6 games, I was not interested in. What the past 6 games says is that our 316 ranking would have been worse before this improvement over these 6 games, I suppose. Just need to keep winning. No room for error any more.

Davidson 25 - URI 23
GW 15 - URI 14
St Bonaventure 23 - URI 18
Richmond 21 - URI 28
Duquesne 27 - URI 20
UMASS 28 - URI 19

Past 6 games URI has 122 while opponents have 139 fouls - or 17 fewer fouls committed.

Let's see if this improved performance continues the rest of Conference play.

firstrowsports.eu will have links. Not the greatest site to use and the stream won't be great but it's watchable. I'd recommend using adblock as well.

Simpson's paradox basically states that trends can disappear or completely reverse when combining groups of data. It's an interesting thing to consider when looking at any stats, whether it's basketball stats or any other statistics in general.

I don't think there's any specific part of our play that needs to dramatically change for this team to improve, we just need certain areas of our game to be more consistent. In all of our losses we committed more fouls than our opponent and put them on the free throw line more than we went to the free throw line. Hopefully these last 6 games (other than Richmond) show improvement in that area.

Who doesn't already use adblock? I do and I have a Mac which isn't going to be harmed by all the malware on these kinds of sites. Adblock helps cut away some of the layers of spam on these pages at worst.

Classic trap game for us tonight.
Coming off our biggest road win in years, and just before our biggest home game in years.
Young team, on a 4-game losing streak, at home and talented at a few positions with nothing to lose.
Better teams have flopped in this scenario, I hope not us, not tonight, not this year. Slim margin of error.
