We could be up by way more.
Keep up the defensive intensity.
Langevine is definitely the worst on the team at shooting lay ups.
Man when he can make a layup he will be so good.
Let's start knocking down some threes and making some lay ups and pull away!

This half reminded me a lot of two years ago...offense doesn't look great but the defense looks really good.

It's quiet on the board right now, hundreds of Rhody fans worried they will blow this lead. Sucks having that feeling. I think they'll be OK mostly because they're at home. But never easy!!

Great defensive effort. All around effort was super, but the careless passing and silly
turnovers made this game much closer than it had to be. I do think having Jarvis back
might calm down the stupid passes and dumb stuff like forcing passes through a crowd.
Many of the 17 turnovers were unforced silly passes. Wow did the refs swallow their whistles
on everything under both baskets, have never seen anything like that. so that's one down
and we will see how the next game goes which is another home game.

Decent effort today especially on the defensive end. Made their free throws and showed some poise at the end when it got close. Only complaints were the careless turnovers and instances where Rhody got a rebound only to have the ball taken right out their hands (or in one instance a stupid pass right under the opponent's basket).

Biggest crowd of the year at 6,757.

Thought it was interesting EC was on the bench to start the stretch run and only came in for free throws late. That's a good sign to me as I think the odd man out down the stretch should change based on how guys are playing and matchups. If our lineup down the stretch wasn't set in stone, we may have beaten PC and Dayton. Today, Robinson needed to be in down the stretch and Hurley realized it and made the tough decision to sit a starter.

Really nice crowd today. Defense was very solid. Loved that he mixed in the zone press in the first half. Hassan dominated when he was in the game and given the ball. The damn sloppy ball handling, especially in the second half, was bad. They had a lot of trouble with that half court trap; just kind of passed it around the perimeter. Once they attacked inside they were fine. Another solid game by Iverson other than the few bad passes. Dowtin and Thompson are struggling with their shooting right now. When we get the ball inside we are mostly successful. Need to keep doing it. Not a great effort but good enough.

Andy I noticed that too and agree. Robinson seems to stabilize things; although he made a couple bad plays today too.

Some of the best interior passing I've seen in a long time.
Wonder if Dan watched Oregon the other night?
Iverson was terrific. Really filled the box score.
6 blocks and 3 assists.
Martin was his old self.
Matthews 3-12 and 5 turnovers, never lived up to the
announcer's pregame hype.
Robinson played a fine floor game with 6 assists and 4 steals.
The defense was there all game.
Reading the thread, people babbling about Dowtin's great passes.
If Jarvis got 2 points and 3 assists, 3 turnovers, with 4 fouls,
people would be crucifying him on this board.
I got worried when Bona cut it to 4, but
the Rams countered that quickly.
A win in the books is always a positive.

A win is a win......

- Favored by 7 but we win by 12 which is nice
- Lead dwindled to 3 points with 4 minutes to go but we did not choke in the last 4 minutes but widened the lead out to 12
- Tied record with 15 blocks to their 4 blocks
- better passing than Bonnie's with 18 Assists to their 10
- 6,757 fans way beyond anyone on this boards expecations going in
- starting guards hit FTs as EC, JD and JT hit 10-11 FTs
- Kuran Iverson with another solid game and near double-double with 12 points, 9 rebounds, a career high 6 blocks, 3 assists
- KI has been the target of a lot of Keaney Blue criticism this season but he is really coming around of late. Some wanted him coming in off the bench and not starting - not anymore!
- Stan Robinson with 6 assists and 4 steals. The entire rest of the team got only 3 steals
- While we are playing better defense we must get more steals. Only 1 starter had a steal - Iverson. Other steals were Robinson with 4, langevine with 1 and Thompson with 1.
- Starters need to play more aggressive defense, shut down the passing lanes and get more than 1 steal in a game
- George Washington up next!!!

Thinking it might be time to put Robinson in ahead of Dowtin until Garrett returns. Less pressure for him off the bench. Still like his game a lot, but Robinson is better and needs more minutes.

Agree, although Dan likes Stan coming off the bench and I can understand that. And I can support him still coming off the bench.
But more minutes for Stan please.
He passes just as well as Dowtin, only he penetrates and makes more plays happen.

Wins are good. Maybe a re-set on EC expectations - a positive contributor and providing some leadership, but maybe it's more reasonable...for now anyway...to look at and evaluate him as a key contributor, not a standout NBA draft lock that carries the team? That's just not what he is right now.

Good time at the Ry today...pretty clean game, 'cept for a late 2nd half stretch when it seemed the passing was more balloon like than crisp. Dowtin...serviceable, and not really a negative, but...not seeing anything to really 'rave' about. And, just imagine what Langevine can be like if he develops a scoring touch around the hoop...he's already way better now than at the beginning of the year, but looks like a lot of upside potential there...

??? ...hard to understand why you pull CT with about 8 1/2 mins left in the first half, right after he grabs a rebound/has a put-back for a 3 point play. Timing just seemed strange...I spose I get wanting EC back in...but maybe for someone else?

Otherwise, love it when KI is a factor and...Go Rhody!

Any chance...with CT's size and getting back into shape and form...that he cuts into PT for both Dowtin and Robinson? I think I'd be ok with that...he seems to be 'as good' as both of those guys on offense (although maybe not as good a handle) and actually maybe better on D?

Some good minutes from the bench today. Thompson's shot wasn't going but he did so many other things. I like that he plays tough. Reminds me of TJ with his toughness. Robinson was so involved on both ends. He had a couple of bad passes, but his contributions on both defense and distributing offensively far offset those. Akele with some rebounds and a few points. He also seems to be improving his defense. Langevine with 3 blocks. He just needs to work on those hands....high speed jugs football is what I'd use to soften them up. Nice to get a W. Need another one Tuesday.

......any of these options are nice problem to have with Jarvis beng out.....the ability to handle the ball in tough man pressure the ball defense is going to be needed down the road.....not sure if Jeff can handle that, can't make his passes if ya give the ball up.....

Someone said earlier Robinson came in for EC. We don't have to have Robinson swap for Dowtin. if JT or EC are out of gas or not shooting well or not playing defense aggressively then being Robinson in for one of them or Dowtin. Either way Robinson is becoming more like TJ Buchanan with his spark, better shooting, passing and ball handling than anyone here expected and his defense is solid. Plus we have Thompson. If Dowtin, JT or EC are not playing optionally then bring in these guys. Cannot play favorites - CANNOT!!
