My biggest concern with this team is its emotional stability and the relationship to the coach

A couple of interesting quotes:

""We looked like a group of guys that were coming home to play a game in an environment where we live and work," Hurley said. "The fact that this is where we practice every day, things were going to take care of themselves."

""At some point it's not just a slump," Hurley said. "It's a season we've got to look at. Am I giving guys too much rope when we're having defensive breakdowns? I might need to have a little bit shorter leash."

If Dan has lost the team we'll see it tomorrow......

If he has....then he's in a big heap o'trouble.

Imo we'll see an improved performance....it has to be better....doesn't mean it translates to a win though.

What concerns me the most is the coach's lack of ability to make in-game adjustments, both on offense and defense.

That comment by the fan that we look like we're being coached like a high school team, is telling......even high school coaches make adjustments when needed.

adam, those quotes by DH are not reassuring......here we go it's all on the players.........not me.....

Earth to Dan: These are YOUR players...this is YOUR team...and it's YOUR responsibility to fix this!

I think there is at least one starting line up change for UMASS, maybe two. Thinking back there was a hint in the Monday Night Show too.

From the Projo article........
"Starting guards Jarvis Garrett, Jared Terrell and E.C. Matthews combined to shoot 9-for-30 from the field while Hassan Martin totaled just two points and two rebounds in 15 minutes. Jeff Dowtin's 11 points off the bench and 10 from fellow reserve Stanford Robinson had Hurley hinting at potential lineup changes against the Minutemen."

I don't know Rambone. I think he's second guessing himself sticking with the EC/JG/JT trio too long, and maybe KI too. I'm glad he's questioning the D because it's clearly not as good as previous years, IMO.

21377, I think he knows he has to do something to try and jumpstart this team.

We'll see if it helps. And DH needs to do his part with game strategy too.

Just changing a couple of players' roles isn't the be all and end all......the problems go way deeper than that.

I agree, I think he is saying he has stuck with them too long, given them plenty of chances but defensively there has to be improvement from the guards, and fast, since there are only 14 games left.
I think at least 1 change and a 50% chance of two changes.

Dan also may be seeing how UMASS is starting 3 freshmen so may have him thinking about starting 1 or 2 new players himself.

The younger guys are the future here......play them and find out........

Our at large chances are about done......so what do we have to lose? If it works out, maybe we'll have a chance in March...and playing the new guys will only help them down the road.

Dan's loyalty to his upperclassmen has to take a back seat for now......I'm sure he doesn't really want to do it, but......

I am pretty sure the starting will be the same but would not be surprised to see a quick hook(s).

Defensively we must improve. Not making changes is not going to change the defense. We also need better passing and more ball movement on offense and we need to run more. We are 16 games into the season, no need to wait or to be cautious with change.

Have to agree with this comment 100%. I will be there this afternoon and praying we don't see any semblance of the performance that was in the LaSalle game. Conventional wisdom would have you think this teams pride and confidence are shaken. And to come out playing 150% would definitely expected. Should be some type of indication what this team is made of or has left in the tank , emotionally and physically. Hopefully I am correct on the effort I expect. Also hope this team can find a way to execute of both ends of the floor and for 40 minutes.

Will be interested to see Iverson's attitude today.. Hurley visibly angry with him Thur and Iverson body language not good. He may be the first to pack it in attitude wise. Maddening talent that just can't put it together consistently. He is real important to helping this team right the ship

Very much agree with that statement 1980. KI is vital to us being our best. But he seems to carry the old transfer tag of having been someone else's problem. With certain things he can do on the court, I am really surprised he hasn't become a better player. The more I think of it, it is extremely hard to believe these kids are junior and seniors mostly. If I didn't know the team and just happened to watch them for the first time, I would most certainly think that this team is loaded with Frosh and Sophomores.

I don't know if we're going to win or lose today. But, I would be shocked if we see a continuation of the other night.
I expect them to come out strong. As for coaching and lineups? Who the hell knows?

Would be nice to hear a little human noise in there and a little less of that way too loud, head-splitting, conversation-preventing other stuff they pipe into the place. To play whatever it is they're playing these days, as loud as they did at the LaSalle game...for so few people...was kind of embarrassing.... Thinking the music should maybe be "something less than 10,000x louder than the loudest noise the present crowd can make"...

at Brown and at Dayton last year. Vs Cincinnati this year.
3 games we faced adversity and WON - 3 games DH had no choice but to adapt due to personnel losses.
