Game Attendance
Re: Game Attendance
I personally know 127 people who will stop coming to games if we lose to Cincinnati - they told me so

Re: Game Attendance
I just don't want to lose another coach who has us on the brink of greatness because of something like this. I've seen what happened to this program after we lost Kraft, after we lost Penders and after we lost Harrick. There's a reason it took 10 years each time (or almost 20 this time) to get back to being close to that brink. I don't have that many of those 10 year intervals left.

Re: Game Attendance
If we go to unranked from ranked my guess is attendance drops by 6 people per game, maybe less

Ticket walk up window has sizable line. Ruckus student line is backed up to the football field.

Go Rhody!!
I think it was my post that got people there tonight... You're welcome.

Awful crew tonight.... Jamie Luckie, John Hughes, Jacyn Goble
Jamie Luckie and I had a very friendly conversation and he went to the scorers table to let them know that I should get a free burrito at Moe's tomorrow.

Re: Game Attendance
I sat in the 300's near the student section and they just kept pouring in. A really impressive showing on their part. I will say they need to do more to involve the students on the main scoreboard side and in the 300's. The fact that the students are broken up makes 2000 students a lot quieter than they should be.

Re: Game Attendance
Definitely need to beat some good teams at home. I've mentioned this stat before but we're 1-14 against top 50 rpi teams over the last 2 seasons. I'm not sure how many of those were home games but I know we didn't win any.ramfan85 wrote:IMO, losing a close, even overtime game to Cincy, may be the worst scenario for us. We've always been able to play good teams close. The problem is that we just haven't been able to win these games.
Now, having said that, a close win may do wonders for this program.
Of course, a 20 point wouldn't be too bad, either.

Re: Game Attendance
Casual fans read headlines...beat Cincinnati...stay ranked...beat PC....attendance will then hold steady in 5-6K range until post break and then max out for what should be very meaningful conference games. Those are the two biggest games in terms of our home attendance bar none. And neither of them are at home.

Re: Game Attendance
Yes this was a big shot in the arm. I have a feeling this year will be the best in attendance since the RC opened and we have our best team too

Re: Game Attendance
If you had told any of us 4 years ago that we'd be averaging well over 5 grand (including over 1500 students) in the first 3 games for 2 low Ivy's and a trash MAAC opponent, you'd have been laughed off this board. It's only going up.

The students have stepped up big time. That will be huge in late January and going forward.
