Opening the 2016-17 Prediction Contest

URI opens its 113th basketball season on Friday, November 11 versus Dartmouth and it is now time to launch the Ninth Annual Prediction Contest.

MAIN PRIZE

This year, the winner of the overall contest will receive a $200 cash prize.

BONUS PRIZES

There will be two bonus prizes of $50 Mews Tavern gift certificates awarded this season based on:

1) Team Scoring -regular season only (to avoid ties, this prediction must be made to two decimals).

2) Average Home Attendance - regular season only.

In these two categories, if bettors submit an identical prediction to one already placed, they will be asked to re-submit prediction.

Note: In the event that a participant correctly predicts all three prize winning components, the prize would be doubled to a $600 cash prize.

PREDICTION COMPONENTS:

Each participant will make a prediction composed of five parts.

1. Regular Season Record (based on 30 games)
2. A-10 Conference record (based on 18 games)
3. Team Scoring Average, ppg (to two decimals, based on 30 games).
4. Top Scorer & Scoring Average, ppg (to one decimal, based on 30 games)
5. Average Home Attendance, regular season only (16 games - 9 conference, 7 OOC)

The contest is based on predicting the overall regular season record, so the other four components of bet essentially are tiebreakers and will be used to determine the winner according to the above sequence. To move successfully through the sequence requires either predicting the actual result or coming the closest to the actual result.

3. 68.42
4. Matthews, 17.8
5. 5,945

DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting a prediction is Friday, November 11, Noon.

OTHER GUIDELINES

• This thread is home where all predictions must be submitted.
• The contest is only open to bona fide URI fans and those meeting that qualification must have registered on this forum before September 1, 2016.
• Please monitor your private messages soon after you place your prediction, because if there is any problem or duplication with your bet, you will be notified via PM to take corrective action.

I look at ramfan's prediction as a worst case scenario imo.....in terms of overall record and league record....if that happens no NCAA tourney
