TruePoint edit: I changed the thread title to be more specific; we already have a general discussion about the tragedy in Newtown, CT elsewhere on the board.

They also blocked off 26 seats and had a rose on each one

Re: Providence to wear green to honor Sandy Hook
Got to give them props. Classy act! Based on this morning's ProJo, it seems it was Ed Cooley who got things rolling. I'm thrilled that Dan Hurley is our coach, but PC got a gem, too.twisted3829 wrote:They also blocked off 26 seats and had a rose on each one

I think it's safe to say that both schools have good and classy coaches.

Re: Providence to wear green to honor Sandy Hook
Did anyone see during the Cox broadcast of last Saturday's game Dan Hurley's expression during and immediately after the moment of silence to remember the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary? They had a close-up iso on him and you could see how just the mention of it stirred up all sorts of emotions. He sure wasn't alone in that regard.

Re: Providence to wear green to honor Sandy Hook
Anyone who has kids, should and would be moved by thoughts of what happened in Newtown.
The idea of some twisted person playing God and ending the lives of all those children and their teachers,
is disgusting. The idea of a little child being shot 11 times is nauseating.
The idea that it could have been anyone's child or grandchild, makes
it a very sad, and highly disturbing event.
I have stopped watching the news. It's too overwhelming to absorb.

Agreed... classy gesture by PC, good job by the Friars to help the healing process.
