Not exactly the toughest schedule around (ranked 199 to our 17) but going to be a tough game anyway. Pretty solid team, I'm surprised at the spread.

Are we gonna suffer from a slow out of the gate start, due to the fog of exams??........bust out game for someone(Malone/Nik)that leads us to a win...........I expect the Hurley coached teams do not suffer from the slow start problem of post exams and no games in a while........I/ll take us in a PK'em spread............

Looking for Munford to get back on track today. That performance from the PC game has to have been eating at him all this time.

Those bullies at SMU!
They beat Malone. He must've been exhausted
after playing 40 minutes of five on one.

SMU is HUGE!
Three guys over 6'10" and 6'4" guards, plus the Kennedy guy from Villanova is 6'9".
About the biggest overall team we've ever faced.

Powell and Hare are impressing me with their intelligence on the court... Powell turns it into a chess game and can make the cut to the basket and dish it out. Hare really has been improving with his pick & rolls and understanding his role, also seen him try a couple post up moves which is good

No doubt they have been working with Hare on his offensive moves, its very obvious out there. Great first half for Malone as well.

How about Brooks with that steal and taking it in from half court? I was shocked he didn't fall down on the way to the basket, but good effort by him.

He also caught a pass under the basket in the first half and put it in for a layup. I'm honestly not sure Ive ever seen him do that before without fumbling the ball out of bounds.

Great decision by Powell to pull up on that fast break instead of forcing it into traffic. Maybe he's been reading some of the posts on here...

Agree entirely. This SMU team may be a "soft" 8-1, but they've clearly got talent on that team. Jones in particular is a beast.

URI played excellent in this game, and I am glad to see them finally play a VERY good 2nd half! Powell is really playing smart basketball, and check out his stat line: 4-5 FG, 3-3 3ptrs, 6 steals, 7-7 FT, 4 assists, 2 rebounds. Feels great seeing them improve every game

Unbelievable win today, beating a quality team by 22.

Malone carried us in the 1st half, Munfold kicked it up in the 2nd, but unquestionably the best Ram today was Mike Powell. 18 pts, 4-5 FG, 3-3 from 3, 7-7 FT, 2 Reb, 4 Ast, 3 TO, 6 Stl. Fantastic line.

Really great effort up and down the roster today, excellent team win. Couldn't be more thrilled with this game.

One of the few games I could actually watch this year so far. Powell played outstanding. I also loved to see Dan Hurley coaching on the balls of his feet with that quick timeout call when nik dove for that ball. Great energy all around.

I'm looking forward to actually reading about a Rhody win in a Dallas paper tomorrow.

Put the game on my computer at work when it was slow. Caught 2 min of the first half, as business picked up. Missed the entire second half of the best game of the year. This working stuff sucks. Larry Brown must be pissed.

I'm processing the video right now from the post-game, but some really interesting stuff was said.

- Hurley apparently ripped the everlasting **** out of the team, especially Malone and Malesevic, in tape sessions after the PC game. It seemed to work though, and Malesevic was one of the two at the post-game. He was quite happy and joking about it with Hurley.

- Brown was very, very complimentary of Hurley, and the team as a whole. He said he had watched tape of URI's previous nine games and knew it was going to be tough because they did have a plan, it was just that the execution wasn't always there.

He was not pleased with the effort from his team, but he was subdued afterward. It wasn't a Cheney-like presser.

Great win, balanced scoring, free throws made, rebounds aplenty, tuff defense on their main players(took 'em outta what they like to do)points off TO/s, assists abound, coaching is a huge factor for this team in that they suffer no let down, none of that "didn't come ready to play" crap we/ve experienced, Jordan becoming a major factor, really nice to sit back and enjoy this one.........here we come A-10 regualr season..........

Back from the game.
Wow! A huge win over a BIG EAST team, and
a Hall of Fame coach.
Mike Powell played a PERFECT game. Both sides of the ball.
Malone saved us, when Munford had two fouls and no points in the second half.
Munford played a strong second half, and was awesome on defense.
Nik came out of his funk.
Quality minutes by Aaman, Brooks and Bigby.
Hare is just blossoming.
Our defense was incredible.
Only sour note, at 1:36 left, our "fans" began leaving in droves.
I turned to Blue Ram and said,"You might think the place was on fire!"
Come on, would it kill these people to stay in their seats and applaud the win?
Section 203, as usual, 75% empty. They're right across from where I sit, and
it's a shame that season ticket holders can't be bothered coming to the games.
You missed one hell of a game by our team.

What really STINKS, is, we had a great win, with easily our best game of the year,
and this thread is far down the ladder, to bullshit about Butler, and the new conference.
Can't you people at least savor this win for an hour??????????

For whatever reason - I blame the general attitude of the New England sports fan - traffic always seems to be higher when things are miserable than when everything goes right.
