URI has moved from 44 to 37 in Lunardi's latest bracket. No longer one of the last four in.

We must be doing something right then. An 11 seed even at this point. I hope the team sees this and hopefully it'll pump them up.

Dayton is in 53/53 brackets
VCU is in 49/53 brackets
Rhody 35/53 brackets

No other A10 team is in a single bracket.

Will the A10 get 3 teams in?

The Dayton and VCU home games will be HUGE!

URI has moved up to a 10 seed playing SMU in Buffalo in Lunardi's latest and isn't considered last four in or a last four bye. Yes, he has us ahead of at least 8 other at large schools, despite what you read on here. A10 is still getting 3 in. Dayton and VCU are 9 seeds.

I'd be fine with a play-in game. Better chance of winning that vs being a last 4 byes. NCAA Credit $ is the same for playing in a play-in game as it is in the Round of 64.

Dayton and VCU have taken full advantage of play-in games and are still enjoying the payouts from that extra NCAA game played.

I sincerely believe we are at a point where we just need/want to get in. Where/when/who/why shouldn't even matter at this point. Get in once and then build on that and start worrying about the rest.

So could we hang a banner for a "play in game"? Technically we should right, but I hate that name. It sounds less legitimate.

Didn't they start calling the play in games the first round or has that been changed back?

It's still an NCAA tournament game, so I'm sure there will be a banner.

kenpom ranking took a beating... We were 33 prior to tip-off... Now we sit at 44

live-rpi.com has us with a current RPI of 56. It was 46 yesterday.

Expected RPI has not been re-calculated based on last nights games but I'd expect that to go from 31.5 to the high 30's.

Our RPI and Kenpom rankings took a big hit with that loss to La Salle, there is no doubt about it. So how do we get back on track? Simple (in explanation anyway)... we now need to win one of the games we are most likely to lose.

rpiforecast is now predicting we will go 12-6 in conference, meaning we will lose 4 more conference games. We need to finish at least 13-5.

Per rpiforecast our most likely losses will come against:
Davidson (A)
Dayton (H)
La Salle (A)
VCU (H)

Before LaSalle we could have afforded losses to all four of these teams. Now we can only afford losses to 3 of these 4. Win one of the 4 games above and you essentially cancel out the La Salle loss.

In Summary:
-Win against UMass (H), Duquesne (A), Richmond (A), Bona (H), GW (H), UMass (A), Fordham (H), GM (A), SJU (A), Davidson (H)
-1 win against any of the following: Davidson (A), Dayton (H), La Salle (A), VCU (H)

Interestingly kenpom views our four most challenging games remaining as:
Richmond (A)
Davidson (A)
George Mason (A)
La Salle (A)

Richmond being in shows how winning a bunch of conference game can put you in. Surprisingly.
They had zero good wins in the nonconference.
If we beat Duquesne and Richmond in the next week and half we will be projected to be in.

They're in because they are in 1st place in the A10 so they are in as the A10 auto-bid.

Well if we have even the slightest chance at a bid, we will have to take care of Richmond in Virginia. Even at this stage, where I am not nearly as high on the Rams as I was in November, I will still not only be surprised and extremely disappointed if we can't take care of Richmond.

Considering what it has felt like here for the two week stretch beginning with the Dayton game and ending after the UMass game, it could be worse. It's still there for this team if they decide to go get it, but it will not come to them.
