Here's a scenario:

PC loses tonight, and it comes down to us or them. We lost to them.

We would lose to them again. And the world would end.

I'm pulling for PC. I want to avoid that scenario and I think they're far above us.

That plus if they win it will help our RPI.

Blue Man, agreed. Baylor is going to give their game away, so it looks like we'll have to run the table.

If we get to the final and lose.....probably not good enough.

In that case, it will likely come down to us or Syracuse. Ugh.

There's really nothing behind us and K State in the first four out and next four out, now. I mean, a bid stealer or an Indiana could come out of nowhere, but not likely.

ODU isn't dancing. Nothing to see there. Probably no RPI hit either.

GW winning avoided one, though.

Watching all these games and now I'm thinking, how many teams did we expect to lose early in their conference tourneys? There's too many, it's crazy.

PC could be in a little trouble...long way to go but down 8......

When Baylor loses I'm blaming them not K State......one team really wanted it and needed it, and the other could care less.

They will jump us and Ill. State, still leaving us as first team out after we win tomorrow.

Lunardi still has Ill. State above us for now.....like he doesn't trust us or something....haha

Winning tomorrow maintains status quo, meaning we'd still be out. I don't think we'll jump anyone or be jumped.

I still think if we get to the final game we're in. Lose a 3rd time to Dayton? Shit, not feeling good about it.

If we get to the final that scenario I mentioned could happen......us and PC for the last spot....I hope the fuck not.

mstyles22, who are we going to jump if we get to the final? We had better win the damn game and remove all doubt.

It [reaching the final and losing] then becomes a total crap shoot with us and maybe 2 other teams.....and us being a mid major, I wouldn't like our chances.

I don't know...assuming we beat Dayton to even get there......

As I predicted, Lunardi moved K State into the field.

Kept us 1st team out, and moved Ill. State below us.

Who could we now pass? He hasn't adjusted for PC's loss yet, nor USC's impending loss to UCLA.

They will still end up above us. Could 2 wins be enough to pass somebody? Freaking nuts!

Baylor got to number one in the polls.
Since then, not much good has happened to them.
They went from world beaters to vulnerable.

OT, does anyone know what the hell they're singing in that

I haven't been able to figure out one word they're "singing"

I purposely didn't watch any games tonight. Don't even know any of the scores, only some of the winners. I did see that GW had 9 points with about 3 or 4 minutes left in the first half. And they wound up winning someone said? Holy Shit. Just shows how bad our league is.
I'm now feeling that the only way we get in is to get the bid. I don't see any other way.
I'm feeling very negative tonight. I feel like all these conference games mean little or nothing. They're going to pick who they want and then come up with some bull shit reasoning to justify it.
The pressure is on. But, for some fucked up reason, I think we can win this thing.

I agree with this. The teams just above us aren't going any farther down.....even though a lot of them are done playing for now.

If we win 2 with a win over Dayton it's possible but it would be a surprise.

If we end up the 1st team out this board will not be a happy place.

But who would we jump in over with wins over St Bonaventure and Dayton?
Will the committee give us the benefit of the doubt against any of those P5 teams?
I think our Kenpom ratings and stuff like that could really help.

I want us to prove we are the best team in the league and win the damn thing.
Let's all be Lamar Odom up in dat bitch this weekend!

Good news is the NCAA website has Davidson number 98 in the rpi. (Not sure if a loss to Dayton will keep them in the top 100). So we picked up 2 top 100 wins yesterday. We're now 7-7 vs the top 100 with a chance to get an 8th win today which would tie PC in top 100 wins.

PC's advantage is that they have 5 or 6 top 50 wins.

More opportunities to get them, but that's what it is.

yeah i don't think the Big East will get 7 of their 10 teams in. On the surface those 7 teams have good resumes but they really benefitted from getting wins vs the top without their best players.

If a Big East team does get left out and we get in, I can't tell if I'd prefer it be Providence that's left out or if I'd prefer it be Marquette if we could get the chance to play PC in Dayton. I honestly can't think of a thing that would make me happier than knocking PC out of the tournament.

I have no faith in the committee giving teams like us a break. Therefore, I'm going for upsets today to Dayton and VCU. I want the easiest path to that automatic bid.
Today, I'm adopting the credo used in judo.......Maximum results with minimum effort.
I want that freakin' automatic bid.

Haha, yes of course. The "for once" was more directed at this current version of the Rams.

Rhode Island [22-9 (13-5), RPI: 45, SOS: 53] Rhode Island won Friday, handling St. Bonaventure in an 11-point A-10 tournament quarterfinal win. This is a good thing, obviously, because when you're as close to the bubble as Rhode Island is -- Joey Brackets has had the Rams deathly close to the cut line throughout Champ Week -- every bit matters. The Bonnies are a pretty decent team, too, with an RPI safely inside the top 100, so that's a bit of a bonus. Yet the Rams also lost on Friday too, before they even took the court. When Davidson guard Jack Gibbs went Super Saiyan against Dayton in Friday's earlier quarterfinal, he and his teammates robbed Rhode Island of a chance to add the most significant resume win the 2016-17 Atlantic 10 has to offer. These are the risks of leaving your bubble work to a single-elimination tournament at the end of the season: nothing -- not even an opponent who will make an impact -- is guaranteed. The only other tournament team in the league, VCU, resides on the other half of the bracket. The odds Dan Hurley's team could lose before Sunday and still get to the tournament have decreased dramatically. The upside? Rhode Island's route to the league's automatic bid is clearer. That may not be the only approach, but it is undoubtedly the best.

I totally disagree with this. Unless Joey Brackets knows that now the weight is to top 50 wins with the committee. With 8 top 100 wins, the disconnect is pretty obvious.
