The committee knows now that if cuse is picked, the whole system will be questioned. I say it's too much pressure to pick them, which they shouldn't be.

Xavier looks good again. There is no way that's a tournament team. They'll get in, but that's dumb.

X up nine now.

They were down 31-25 with about a minute left in the first half.
Scored the last five including a deeeeep three at the buzzer by macura.
That sparked them big time

This. Don't worry though - they'll pick somebody else like Iowa or Cal.

TeamRankings.com has us as a First Four participant, 78% overall chance to get into NCAA tournament.

That's 22.9% to win the A10 Tournament for auto-bid plus 54% chance for at-large selection.

Today my favorite teams are Baylor and butler. Most of the rest of the bubble teams are playing eh games that won't get them moved up or down, but these two.. Baylor can keep kstate passing us as they seem to be the only team with a come from behind entry, and I still think the X has some work to do since their only wins in the last ten have been over depaul(all3)

Fwiw, I just ran Davidson thru the rpi wizard and with a win against LaSalle and a loss to Dayton, they'd finish with an RPI of 100. Obviously just a tiny bit of fluctuation elsewhere could knock them back a spot. So it kind of highlights the craziness of counting "top-100" wins where the results of maybe one or two games likely involving no teams URI plays could change the number of "top-100" wins that URI can put on its resume by 2 games.

To me the craziest part was that if URI lost to Davidson Saturday, an obviously bad result, their top 100 record would have actually improved.

I think we can officially start the Illinois elimination party. K-State is next on my enemies list (no offense to ramfan85).

No offense taken. But, thanks for the thought. Lol
Actually, K State is only my second team for basketball. Like to see them get in, but, I'll be rooting for them to lose for URI's sake. URI is number one for basketball with me.

Now, if it was football, it would be different. However, I really don't think that scenario will be arise.

They also have St. Joe's listed in the "No longer considered for at-large" section, so I'm beginning to question their sanity. Was St. Joe's EVER considered for an at-large???

I have a big problem with Kansas giving this game to TCU. They don't care, they have their #1 seed locked up, so they throw a bone to a conference partner who will get credit from the committee as if this is a real win. This one win probably isn't enough but if they beat Iowa St tomorrow they could be in a definite position to steal a bid. It's bullshit in my opinion. At the very least this type of situation should be zero-sum. If you're going to reward TCU you have to punish Kansas by dropping their seed. Otherwise you have misaligned incentives and you get bullshit results like this.

I have heard rumors that the committee now evaluates teams by no longer assessing if they've done well at the end of the season like they used to, BUT also by now assessing if opponents were missing major players when a big/key win happened.

Yeah, I mean to be clear I was talking wild shit in a reverse-jinx like attempt to goose Kansas into getting back in the game. Almost worked.

But I do think a team should be punished for losing as much as the other team is rewarded for winning. I do believe that part of it. I doubt Kansas was giving the game away, though.
