Lunardi will make last minute adjustments as he hears from people really close to the committee.....does it every year, so his picks are closely in line with what actually happens on SS......

As of this AM bracket matrix has us just 2 behind Ill. St. 59-57.....but K State is closing.....we REALLY need them to lose to Baylor in their 1st round game.....if they win that game they will jump us 100%.

And Ill. State will finally be out, for good.

Interesting times for a bunch of teams that are in must win situations
Clemson has to beat Duke today
Illinois State is seeded 8th by one Bracketologist and 9th by 2 others - don't know how they can have them that high

I put together a cool spreadsheet at work yesterday that tracks all the bubble teams this week. Maybe I should know this but is there a way to share that here as a file? Or do I need to make an image of it and host it somewhere in order to get it on here?

Please don't legitimatize Lunardi. Not even in the top 20 of bracketologists.

Cuse is in even if they lose today. Virginia Tech is definitely a big one, if Wake wins I think they're probably going to get in as well.

I don't understand how Syracuse is a tournament team even if they WIN today. Just makes no sense to me. If they lose and still make it, it will be a mockery.

Gotta be honest - looking at their resume it really isn't as impressive as those 6 top 50 wins would make you believe.

If they lost today to Miami:

18-14, RPI 85, SOS 52. - Bad RPI, high losses

They'd be 2-5 in their last 7.

They would be 2-11 in road and neutral games. Also have a loss to a very bad BC team on there.

They're certainly not guaranteed anything with a loss here.

I was born in Syracuse, raised a Cuse fan and most my family still lives in that area so take that comment with a grain of salt

Obviously I'm hoping both teams make the tournament, I really don't care about the rest of the ACC so as long as Clemson and Wake lose Cuse shouldn't affect our chances. Not sure what I'll do if they both make the tourney and play each other...

Right, only 2 road and neutral wins with an RPI of 79 shouldn't get in. And I don't understand how anyone trying to project the bracket could have Syracuse and Illinois State in but URI out. Either the strength of your wins matter most and Syracuse and URI should be in or your metrics like RPI matter most and Illinois State and URI should be in.

I think in McNamara's last year there they were a bubble team with a 9-7 conference record and still didn't get in.
They are still susceptible to a "snub"
They didn't do well in the nonconference either and that does matter to the committee.
I think they pretty much are in though.

Lunardi was just on live during the Syracuse game and he said he would not drop them off even if they loss today. His reasoning was interesting, to say the least. "They were in this spot last year and lost and then went to the final four so i wouldnt drop them out". Must be nice to not have this year count towards anything just cause you are in the ACC

Just glad they lost so the esteemed Committee has to at least answer for whatever decision they make.

In other news, Cuse fails to win at the Carrier Dome.

RPI Wizard says they will have a 18-14 record with disgusting 85 RPI on Selection Sunday, yet they'll get in.

Syracuse is 2-11 on the road/neutral.

I understand everyone in the media loves Syracuse but with an RPI of 80, which I'd say may even go down after today, coupled with the atrocious record away from Syracuse I just can't see them getting in.

The tournament committee wants competitive teams in the tournament. Anyone who has watched Syracuse play at least several times this year would know that they'd probably beat URI more often than not on a neutral court. I haven't seen it mentioned here lately but I think Davidson getting absolutely destroyed 2 years ago in the tournament hurt the A10 slightly. They won the league and had one of the worst losses among at large teams in recent history. Wasn't a good look for the a10 and I'm sure the tournament committee wants to avoid games like that one.

Syracuse is 2-5 in their last 7, hardly playing their best ball at the end here. Yeah, they played tough teams, but there are tough teams in the tournament and they don't get to play in the Carrier Dome.

Last season was last season, Lunardi shouldn't be under pressure to have Syracuse in just because they made a run in the tourney last year. THEY WERE A CINDERELLA TEAM, doesn't matter if you're Syracuse or George Mason, its March. Be consistent committee!
