Re: Game 31: @ Fordham Saturday March 5 2:00pm Cox Sports/OS
This is possibly the best season Fordham has had since joining the A-10 back in 1995-96. They are currently 16-12 (incl 1 non D1 win) and 7-10 in A-10 play with an RPI of #169. They are already assured of an overall winning season. By Fordham standards this is an outstanding season. The Bronx Rams have not been in any postseason tournament since 1992. They usually always play Rhody tough in the cozy confines of Rose Hill Gym. Many of their fans for some reason seem to view URI as a rival even though the schools have little in common. As many other previous games in the Bronx, this will not be an easy game for Rhode Island.

Re: Game 31: @ Fordham Saturday March 5 2:00pm Cox Sports/OS
They view us as a rival only because we're Rams too.
They keep calling us the "Bad Rams".
But you're right, it's never easy playing them there, and this won't be any different.
I expect a close game, and us winning it.
Since I'll be at work, that's a good sign for us. We always seem to win when I have to work.
Let's keep that up......

I think, as much as I hate to say it, that Martelli is probably the favorite for COY this season.
As for the NIT, I still think we need 2 in NY, along with today's game.
The fools on the Fordham board think they're in the running for an NIT berth.
Yeah sure, with a 169 RPI.

Don't forget about Derek Wittenburg's one shining moment as Fordham head coach in the 2006-2007 season. They were 18-12 and 10-6 in conference. We knocked them out of the A10 tournament.RF1 wrote:This is possibly the best season Fordham has had since joining the A-10 back in 1995-96. Maybe one of the most telling stats is this:
URI last 3 straight at Fordham until last year's win in which Biruta had the great last second shot to win.
January 18, 2012 we lost 66-64
January 26, 2013 we lost 66-63
February 1, 2014 we lost 85-79
2015 we won at the wire
A win today at Fordham would be most noteworthy and bring us to 10-8 in conference play and most important finishing the A10 Conference in strong fashion winning 4 of our last 5. That kind of finish does not happen very often for us in A10 play.
