As awful as the officiating has been, we will lose this game because we cant execute in crunch time on either end of the floor.
We seem to cave in when the pressure is on and we need to execute on offense or get a stop on defense. Fordham hitting their free throws in crunch time as well.

That's probably the worst loss of the season. I could beat Fordham by myself. Fordham. Smh.

Fordham executes down the stretch, recognizes the mismatch and gets Anderson the ball in isolation against 4 and there is the ballgame. Again, nobody to blame but ourselves with our lack of execution in crunch time. Very encouraged by KI for what he brings to the team, will be a huge factor next year.

We always struggle at Fordham....always. We lost because we couldn't contain their center. I thought he should have been double teamed but we continued to play him straight up.

We actually executed perfectly down the stretch. Drew up a play to get Four an open shot and he knocks it down to tie the game, draw up another play to get him the ball with 3 seconds left and he was wide open. Just couldn't hit a 40 footer.

Our defense sucked.
So does our announcer. First, Abu wanted Terrell, who couldn't hit shit all day, to take the last shot. Then, he thinks we should be "happy."

Should have called timeout after 4 hit the 3 and gotten Thompson in for defense. 4 had no prayer against Anderson's quickness... Sometimes coach has to be quick on his feet too... Hurley wasn't then...

Wow! Such a winnable game.
Terrell with just ONE point, and Garrett
with only 6.
When does that ever happen?
Iverson was awesome in the second half.
Some day he'll put an entire game together.
Seems to do well only in halfs.
He's so talented, though.
Thompson gave them a life in the first half and that was it for him.
Watson and Berry were generally good on offense and rebounding.
We made Ryan Roomes look like Hakeem The Dream.
We have a new player, David Terrell, and a new
sponsor, Alex and Annie.
I hate like hell for us to lose to Fordham.

No, down the stretch is not the last 20 seconds of the game. Down the stretch is when you have a lead with 2:39 remaining and dont score again until you hit a prayer 3. We committed 3 fouls and had 2 turnovers during that stretch, not how you close out a game.

Bottom line we need height in the front court. The only way to contend with team that have a legit 5 is if your undersized center is dynamic i.e. can put the ball on the floor like a guard or can stretch the floor and make outside shots. Teams with post play will continue to attack this flaw in our team.

This was a bad game for Terrell and it wan't because of the Fordham defense. He reverted to his freshman play when he repeatedly failed to finish. I feel bad for the young guy because he had been playing so well in recent games.

Notice Fordham didn't. They just found 4.
Four consecutive turnovers (without a timeout) bringing the ball up didn't help any.

What was odd was,
there was no shot clock counter
on the graphics.
I would like to have seen how much time McGlynn
has on the last shot.

Yeah, I was able to see the clock above the basket when they showed the slow mo replay, he definitely had at least another 1.3-1.5 seconds to dribble closer. The red light didn't come on until the ball had already hit the rim. There was nobody in front of him either, he just rushed it and I think he knew it. He was disappointed after, I think not because he missed a 40-footer, but because he realized he rushed it.

Is he gassed? 39 minutes today.

Don't know why Dan didn't sub for Four at the end either.

With a win UMASS can tie Duquesne and they hold the tie breaker, so if UMASS beats Lasalle at Lasalle
URI would play UMASS as long as SLU doesn't beat SBU. If UMASS wins and SLU wins, URI plays Duquesne. If UMASS loses
then URI plays Duquesne

They have been playing well lately.

Rhoomes has really improved, too little too late for them however.

I mean, even with his night, if Jared has an average game we win.

Like I said, he probably doesn't have much left in the tank, he's been playing almost every minute lately and with the intense defense too.

Next season, with EC, Robinson, and Dowtin, him and JG will be able to play a more reasonable 30 or so minutes a game, and won't be so worn down like he is this year, and last year too I might add.

Nope. We chased them for basically the last 8 minutes or so. We were ahead 45-35 with about 12 minutes to go, and they went on a run to go ahead 49-47 (IIRC). We did have a brief one possession lead or two after that, but for the most part they controlled the game down the stretch.
