I would say VCU really needs the game to stay in the mix atop the conference.....that does not seem a good place for us to be on the road......hope KI can see more playing time......not a good feeling going into this one....

We will do well to finish 3-3, 9-9 conference finish, and 17-14 total record.

That's losses to VCU, Dayton, and Davidson on the road, and wins against UMass and Duquesne at home, along with Fordham [road].

The only game which I consider almost a sure win is UMass.

We could beat Davidson also, but the Dukes and Fordham will be close games imo.

Where does that leave us going to NY, if we do finish 9-9? 8th? Maybe 7th?

4 games in 4 days. With our "depth?" Sure.

I would take 17-14 with what I have seen from this team to date. I however think 16-15 is the more likely possibility. This team will have a difficult time winning another road game. Watch out for the Duquesne home game as well as it might be tough.

Looking at how A-10 teams performed this year, our schedule did not help matters. Most of our one game series with the better conference teams were all on the road - @GW, @VCU, @SBU, @ DC. Several of our one game home series games this season were with mid to lower level teams where we won at last year - DU, SLU, GMU, RU. This schedule from the start made road wins very tough for this year. The schedule flips next season. If the Rams take care of business at home, they should be more likely to get some road wins next season.

No chance URI wins this. Road game against a VCU squad with an RPI of 54.

As always, I hope I'm wrong but I have nothing to believe URI will prove me wrong.

Side note: I was looking up the RPI numbers on real time RPI. According to that site William & Mary has an RPI of 52. Better than teams like Gonzaga, Butler, Cincy, UCLA, Ohio State. Didn't expect that.

If we pulled off the Dayton win then this would be important too for bye game purposes.

I think it is still important for this group to knock VCU off. Show VCU(and their fanbase) we don't give a shit about Virginia basketball.

Also give the players coming back next year a taste of what they can do. I'm sure TJ learned things from when that bad team knocked off SLU in St Louis.

In comparing both teams in their OOC, URI may have no quality wins, but neither does VCU, with their win over Middle Tennessee being their best. The difference is VCU has done better in the A-10 with wins over GW, Davidson and the Bonnies. But their loss to UMass shows they have vulnerabilities.

VCU's advantage is the game is being played on their homecourt and considering URI's bad luck and road woes, the signs are not there for that to change.

It is a league wide fan hobby to trash Dan Hurley. That is nothing new nor is it very original. VCU fans also tend to be pretty brash given their recent successes. As for the SJU trolls, much of it comes from a single piss-ant.

And other A-10 fans wonder why many Rhody fans think the league has it in for our program? Just look at the treatment and comments our coach, players, program, and fans get from the outside.

The problem is, we haven't earned any respect around the league yet, due to the fact that we keep losing to these teams.

VCU fan here. Since my older brother is a professor at URI so I've visit your campus. It's beautiful, the people are great. The Newport jazz festival is awesome and block island is great walk!

Watson did the right thing. No pump fake needed. He had to rotate to block it. Watson just isn't explosive enough.
