I think you have to start playing him less. It is no longer about this year as it is already lost. This team will see no postseason and a losing overall record is not out of the question. Thompson needs to play over McGlynn at this time. Use Four off the bench and end of game for FT shooting. Give him more minutes if he is hot. He is a defensive liability and doesn't bring much if he is not hitting shots. It is now time to play for the future. They are playing for nothing this season.
Agree with everything, they need to play CT over 4 (off the bench, limited, and FTs at end of game)...only, because they still ARE (should be) playing for something... 4 is what 4 is...CT is going to keep improving, but has to play....
What exactly are they playing for this season? A CBI invite? If they lose tonight, my guess is you are looking at a losing record for the year. If they win tonight, they will most likely be 1-2 games over .500 are year end. Anyone with a sense of reality has known for a long time this squad is going no where.

Yup agreed. It is most frustrating because this was obvious after the first week in December.

Need to keep getting better this year, for Brooklyn.

I think they should be playing for a last stand in Brooklyn. Everything from now til then should be geared toward ramping up to Brooklyn, and to me that is another reason to try to accelerate Thompson's development. And even putting that aside, if we are still pretending this regular season could be worth something, Thompson gives you more in that regard also.

We aren't going anywhere in the A-10 Tournament. We would have to win games away from Kingston and do so against some decent teams. Based on the evidence to date, this year's squad can't do that.

Yeah, I don't know about that. First of all, playing at a neutral court is different than being at home, but it also isn't the same as being on the road. Second of all, they have been in every road game in A10 play with a chance to win - that says to me that an incremental improvement could change things. You couple that with maybe a top team locked into a bid playing less than 100% and/or a couple upsets that help our path, and anything is possible. I wouldn't bet my kid's college fund on it, but stranger things have happened. That is why people like sports.

It's one thing to believe they WILL win and another to think they CAN win in Brooklyn.
I'm guessing a fair number of Rhody fans will go...because sports is awesome...and they 'could' win it....so may as well ramp up the team's talent as much as possible.

Timing is everything?
Oddly enough Thompson starts the 2nd half over McGlynn. I've been wanting this for 6 weeks or more.
And we start off going from tied to up 9 points in the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half
If Hass can pass out of that short-corner double team like he did on that Terrell three, it could really open things up for us on offense compared to the last couple weeks.
ETA: next time down, they don't double him, and he scores beating his man and the help to the basket.

^ right. it was a very good quick pass by Thompson, but Hass getting it out on time started it, and the whole thing happened fast enough that LaSalle couldn't regroup from the double team.

Totally different team with JG in there. They are playing a pretty bad team but it looks like they are creating more offensive plays. Jarvis doing great.
Haven't heard every single word, but...I don't believe the announcers have mentioned "Hurley" and "the officials" in the same sentence tonight? Have they?
On Francis, I always found it amusing how he would do the tips to start the game and would then come out at first whistle and never get off the bench again.
Shengelia was horrific and worse than Francis and Brooks but was never elevated to starter that I can recall.

Great pass by Terrell and Akele with a great finish and gets the 3 point play the old fashioned way. Good running the court by Akele.
Garrett again coast to coast. Career high 26 points so far.
Career high for Garrett with 28.
Terrell with 4th consecutive game with 20 or more
Solid game from Martin.
Akele career high
Thompson solid floor game and as usual strong defensively. Gets start in 2nd half. Hopefully starts Tursday night.
George Mason Tuesday night then bring on Dayton Friday night!!!!
