Fantastic! Ever since the Brown comeback this is a different team. Don't look now but all of the averages: 2PT FG, 3PT FG and FT's are inching up to respectable numbers.

Nice game. Great win! Our defense absolutely demoralized Richmond. Just about every shot was contested. Things are picking up in Keaney Blue Land!!!!!

Cline couldn't miss, but he didn't have much help.

Otherwise it would have been St. Louis all over again.

Agree...awesome win..JG did play great tonight.. Did not expect this outcome, team looked great. This team showed great offense....I think even DH was surprised. In first half interview, he seemed a bit take aback at the offense. Was GREAT to see. GO RHODY!

Yeah I noticed this to, kind of weird, not sure why its like that.
Watched it on a large screen at hotel here in SC and it looked fine. Speaking of fine....has this team played better than they did tonight?

Another outstanding offensive performance, with excellent ball movement. Garrett was superb, Richmond couldn't stop his drives. Those foul calls on us in the second half were outrageous. Thankfully we hung in there. Wish Berry got a little action but all in all another outstanding performance by the entire team.

What a wonderful two hours that was! It did look bad on TV. Almost every game we've had at home on ESPN have looked that bad.
We just could not miss! 'Twas a late Christmas miracle!
Hass had 10 points. Kuran was the only one who played kinda bad.
2-0!

Was nice to hear dh on the postgame.
I did wince when he said something about a couple
of tough losses while they were in the process of
reinventing themselves...but he came across as in
a very good frame of mind. First place will do that.
He also joked about why Don wasn't asking him about
free throws.
I have thought for at least the last few weeks that it
would be nice to hear him on the pregame show at
least. I mean Farrell goes on WEEI 162 times a year
before each game. I can see having an assistant do
the postgame because he has other committments,
but giving Steve 5 minutes before every game should
be easy to do.

Just got home from the ryan center. A lot of pros and few cons in this game. I enjoy watching Akele more and more each game, ever since the open practice i knew he would flourish. JT and JG were great. 4M was confident. Hassan did what he could. He looked a step behind and looked like he was wearing cement shoes. My only two gripes about this game: One, I wish KI played better, I really want to see him have one good FULL game. and two.....Kersey was god awful, like really really bad.

And Terrell. But as we've seen, things can flip-flop quickly based on opponent, and it's not like Richmond was a defensive juggernaut coming in.

There's probably a good chance he's still hurt, and playing through it. Once I hear a report of a player being injured during the season, I just kind of assume they're playing hurt the rest of the year.

Terrific game from start to finish.. Nice to see multiple players having the confidence and not hesitating to take the open shot... Glad to see Hass on the floor.. Even at less than 100% his presence was felt & necessary.. Monster game by Garrett.. Took the ball to the hole at will and great decision making.. Need kids back in school.. Way too quiet arena, but an enjoyable game to be at!!

Kersey had me jumping out of my seat all night. It seems he called every foul at the defensive end of the court, but swallowed his whistle at the offensive end. If it wasn't for the two other refs, the calls would have been even more lopsided. But........ he couldn't change the outcome, as our number one guard played a helluva game, despite one of our posters wanting McGlynn to replace him. Similar to the post about correcting Jimmy Baron's free throw deficiencies.

Making a few 3's will do wonders for a team's confidence.

If we keep doing it, we've got a chance to do some damage in conference.

I think Richmond is a mid pack team this season.

They don't defend, and they don't have much depth.

A good win though.

Enjoyable game. Even got to relax a little bit. The only thing that got my blood boiling was the refs. We might have won by 25 if not for so many horrendous calls. Jones is supposed to be one of the better PGs in the league. Talk about totally outplaying your opposite number. Jarvis with 18 pts., 8 assists and 1 turnover and Jones with ZERO points. All of a sudden, we're a great shooting team. Can I change my prediction again?

I did thoroughly from 107.

It was just two weeks ago we couldn't hit 70% from the FT line and now we just did from the arc.

Side note Four was having some knee trouble at the end of the game and limped out of the gym with a slight grimace on his face. Just for a heads up.

Trivia note......Cline is the son of Nancy Leiberman.......one of the great female basketball players of all time.....he is a nice player in his own right....would love to have a player like him at Rhody....

....cheers to Jarvis Garrett who played exceptionally well.....Hassan didn't have that explosiveness we all love...understatement to say we shot well from three.....12 of 17 for 36 points....shooting from two we would have had to be 18 for 17 to get that many points.....

....gonna be a tough one at St. Joes.....I would make the trip but feel that tickets may be hard to get because their place is so small....

They have looked like a completely different team in the last two outings from earlier in the year. Much better ball movement. Fewer turnovers. Better free throw shooting. Much better shooting from the field, particularly from three point territory. Had felt much of this was due in the St Louis game because the opponent was bad. that was not the case tonight. Am feeling a bit better about this team than i was after the ODU loss.

Hassan entering the game was a big lift for the players as well as fans. A bullet was dodged with his injury given what it initially looked like. Another pleasant night at the Ryan Center. I like driving home happy and would love to get used to it.

Back Home in CT. Couple of observations:

1. Cline was really good but could have been called for a foul most times he was on offense with a different set of refs.

2. Refs were awful. 2 out of 3 were too one - sided. If we had not been up and making 3's Hurley would have been kicked out for sure.

Great Game by TEAM. Way to go guys. Keep the confidence rolling Rhody

I'm pretty sure it's Four's ankle. That's what Monteiro was looking at when Four went to the bench. He did come back in the game, but it was definitely bothering him. Hopefully, it's minor.

Great win! This team can knock down 3s. They shot well in multiple games before Brown and I expect the solid shooting to continue (and by solid, I mean high 30s low 40s % not the outrageous pct we had tonight). Also, I noticed the last 2 games, when guys get the ball in the lane or the paint, they're looking for the shooters in lieu of taking a tough 2 or trying to force it to HM or EW. To me this has been the difference in our offensive flow. We may have uncovered this out of necessity because of the injuries but HM and KI will be the ultimate beneficiaries as teams will have to stay with our shooters when the ball goes inside.

Tough defense and looking for our 3 point shooters is a great formula for success.

I think Four has a sore ankle from the other night, and tweaked it again.

He has 5 days to rest it though.

He along with Hassan and KI should be closer to 100% by Sunday?

I think we have a stretch soon where we only have one game in 12 days. That should help.

Heck of a game tonight. The three point shooting in the first half was absurd. 8-8 to start the game, that has to be a school record, no? I was floored. Great confidence shown from everyone. Solid ball movement all game, great D, and dare I say good FT shooting...an all around stellar performance. Feels good when we can keep our foot on the gas all game and never let the opponent back in it. Were certainly due for a few of these games after some unfortunate late game struggles with our OOC. If we can maintain the improved shooting (especially on the road), better ball movement and continue with our tough D, anything can still happen. One game at a time!

And yes, the feed on Espnu was kind of crappy. Almost checked initially to make sure I was on the HD channel.

??? NYG you going to help a fellow koolaider on this?

Seriously 3-0 and playing great since Dan Hurley's somewhat controversial (on this board anyway) press conference following the Iona game.

What a great day to be a URI Ram Fan!!!
- URI handles Richmond with ease. A team that is or was in Lunardi's last 4 out this week
- PC loses to Marquette at home
- UCONN loses to Temple at home

- On the recruiting front Patrick School led by Cyril Langevine enters USA Today top 25 in the #6 spot!
- ST John's HS with key recruit Jeff Dowtin Jr enters USA Today top 25 in the #10 spot and defeats 18 ranked Gonzaga in OT.
- When has URI had two players in very key roles on two teams in top 10 HS teams in Nation?

Now going back to my koolaid :D :D :D

My take on tonight's game:
I like when we become Louisville, or Duke, and
bomb 3s all night.
Beats the hell out of grind em out half court snoozefests.
OK, the next person who slams Jarvis Garrett should be banned from
KB for life.
This kid is a player. He shuts down a good PG for Richmond,
scored 18 points, gets 8 assists and ONE turnover!
At this time folks, he's clearly the best player on this team.
Terrell was good all night. Nice to see him put a couple of good
games back to back.
These guys are only in their second conference game of their sophomore
season.
Iverson? Sure he didn't play well, but Dan set the record straight, in the post game show.
He's actually in his first collegiate season, and he's not completely
healed from his injury.
Hassan obviously was out of sync, from again, being not completely healed and
some layoff rust.
Earl didn't duplicate his great game from SLU. Of course, the little old ref
stuck it to him and URI all night.
Akele helps on offense but gets hurt on defense at times.
Thompson is fearless.
Four hit some nice shots, but made a couple of bad passes.
One of the few times we were out rebounded this season.
Really quiet crowd, for the most part, especially in
the first half.
Always nice to beat Richmond. They have a couple of kids
we could use, up front.
On to Philly and the house of horrors against St. Joe's.
Hope we don't wind up playing 5 on 8 like we always
seem to do against the Hawks.
BIG test to see if we're for real or not.

One note on Temple's win over UConn.
The winning basket was hit by Josh Brown.
He's the point guard from St. Anthony's who had it
down to us and Temple.
He chose Temple. A week or so later, we got EC Matthews,
who was supposed to also be a point guard.
Would he have come here if Brown declared for URI?

Okay, who are these guys? I suspect some of the Rams players were kidnapped at halftime of the brown game and replaced with aliens
who can shoot threes and actually shoot free throws. They look like the same players until they release a shot and it goes in almost every time.
Please tell me these guys are going to be wearing Rhode Island uniforms the rest of the season because these guys are great players. I think
Richmond played pretty well tonight, but they had no chance against these players. That can't be Earl Watson at the free throw line swishing
three of four free throws. and what happened to Garrett / The player wearing his uniform played a perfect game. when they isolated for him
to take his man to the rim it was as if he was playing against a grade school kid. I just hope these aliens want to stick around and play the
rest of the season. Akele, Thompson and McGlynn are playing as originally advertised now and it is a beautiful sight. Now go to Philly and kill St. Joes.

The winning basket was hit by Josh Brown.
He's the point guard from St. Anthony's who had it
down to us and Temple.
He chose Temple. A week or so later, we got EC Matthews,
who was supposed to also be a point guard.
Would he have come here if Brown declared for URI?
As Bobby said right after EC verballed, sometimes things have a way of working out for the best.
