Now lets not let them back in it at all in the second half. Keep the foot on the gas.

Even though we are playing great today, seeing Hassan and EC walking around in their warmups is so depressing.

Gotta love the guys on the NBC broadcast talking about Daniel Marshall (the strength coach) on the bench as if he was EC. Said something like "at least if you can't get out there, still rocking the bow tie on the bench"

Clearly they did their hw before the game

What is the point of having Four and Earl in the game and Thompson, Akele and Berry on the bench up 20+ points with 4:00 to go? Overall very little to complain about and happy to Earl have a game, especially, but get these young guys some minutes while you can. Going to need them.

NBC color guys were so bad.

Thought Danny was Bobby (multiple times)
Mixed up Earl, Iverson, and Terrell (multiple times)
and showed Marshall when talking about EC (multiple times)

Clearly they did a little more celebrating on NYE than game prep.

I was expecting a few more of these games when the season started. A win in conference is always good. Let's hope we stay hot behind the line(3-point or free throw)

Just got home. Wow did they play well on offense! Can't complain about ball movement today; a few lapses but overall really good. Hate to say this but Four went out in the last minute with what looked like a shoulder injury of some sort. Hope it isn't bad. Keep playing like this and you never know...

Easily our best 40 minutes of offensive execution - low turnovers, shot it well, young guys looked good
That said SLU is an atrocious team. Tuesday will provide a lot of answers.

This was the best this group of players has ever looked. They did everything well today including outside shooting and fts.
They played great defense as well. If they could play like that in every game they would be hard for any A 10 team to beat.
dayton looked awful today against duquesne but still won on the road. Are Akele and Thompson and Berry as good as they looked today?
I would love to believe it. and Four has regained his shot. SLU isn't as bad as they were made to look today. Keep it rolling against
Richmond. They didn't look good at home and lost to St. Joes.

Just got home….

Positives

This seemed to be the first game where guys made a conscious effort to kick out for 3s when getting in the lane or after grabbing offensive rebounds. My favorite play of the game was the play where we missed a 3, got an offensive rebound, kicked it out for an open 3, missed, got another offensive rebound with a tap out out for 3. Playing to our limited offensive strengths, which is athleticism on the boards and shooting the 3. Like I posted earlier, we average more than a point per three point attempt and that number went up after today.

Negatives

A couple of times St. Louis got an easy basket and no one helped, which is fine, it happens. But I didn’t like the body language of our guys after the basket. Close games, we can’t afford to sulk over a bad defensive play. Also I don’t like playing zone. Seems to be a strategy when Berry comes in. May work against St. Louis but could be a concern in close games where every possession matters. Too vulnerable to giving up open 3s and offensive rebounds. Plus our man to man defense is so good, not worth gambling with a zone.

Overall, great game. I’m excited for Richmond.

Of course I have to work and they play like this.

Maybe I'll work more often.

Seriously, it's good to see. Berry and the freshmen are really coming along, and that's nothing but good news for the rest of this season and beyond.

Never would have guessed we would win by 28 without Hassan and a limited KI.

Keep doing it.

Back from Kingston and environs.
Fun game. I think someone snuck in and loosened the
rims.
Not one shot out of a cannon long rebound.
Our best shooting in memory.
Decent crowd,
Great production from Watson and Iverson at 20 and 21 minutes.
Iverson 12 pts. 8 rebounds, 5 offensive, 2 blocks.
Watson was a bull in the 2nd half.
Garrett had some super hustle plays which won't
show up in the box score.
Terrell missed his first 3 shots and did well afterwards.
Four (4-14) is a typical shooter, who is like Forest Gump's box
of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get.
Akele looked like he was en route for 40 until his
nose bleed.
I like him. He's very active. He blocked a shot,
came down and made a great pass for a basket.
Granted, we were playing a small team, which is
not very good.
However, it was a rare game, where we shot the ball,
only had 6 turnovers and won easily.
I'll take it!

They are in year 2 of a complete rebuild.

Their last year in the NCAA tourney I think the entire starting 5 were seniors.

Plus the fan base is really down on Crews. He was an assistant under Majerus, and a lot of their fans don't think he's qualified for the job.

I can't recall a game where you could sit back at the Ryan Center knowing we were going to have an easy win. There was really never a doubt after getting up 18-2. Couldn't complain about anything. Balanced scoring, great shooting percentages, few turn overs. It was even nice to see the walk-ons come in with Temkin scoring a basket and Sunahara getting a defensive rebound. They seemed to be the most excited when the horn sounded.

We play our best complete game of the season (admittedly against a poor team), and there is barely 2 pages of comment?. I swear the majority of this board is happier when complaining. I have been impressed with the last 3 halves and an overtime period. Let's keep it rolling.

So one needs a certain amount of posts to notice some recent negativity? Why can't there be pages devoted to some positivity? We all know if we were being blown out, there would be 6 pages of criticism of DH, JT, and JG

Beat the entire StL team down the floor running the right wing and was rewarded by a little bounce pass from 4 for an easy layup.

Watson played good tho so he didn't get as many minutes as he might have.

He needs to continue to play when Martin returns 8-10 m perfect.

We played a very well balanced game today. We shot the ball exceptionally well. St. Louis is a bad team but I think a game like this is exactly what we needed. Confidence is so important in sports and hopefully this game helped our team mentally. Richmond should be a good test. Go Rhody!!

Help me out on this question. When a player is returning from an injury, and is questionable to play in the game, why do coaches let them warm up, and then not start them in the game if they are well enough to play? The player gets loose and warmed up starting several hours before game time, then they sit on the bench and cool down. Wouldn't it make more sense, if a player had been a starter, to have him start the game, rather than sit for 20 minutes (or more) between the end of warm ups and when he is substituted into the game? Seems like coaches at every level of basketball do the same thing. Kuran Iverson today was another example.

I think the plan was to see how the game was going and use him in a limited role, of course foul situation and Akele's nose bleed changed things. He was still limited in action (not much offense through him) got most of his point on O-Reb put backs and some outside shots. Definitely not the KI from the beginning of the year

A game without stress? Who do those players think they are? Enjoyable basketball is frowned upon in this establishment!
All kidding aside...it was great to watch a game without dreading whether or not the team or the officials were going to blow it.

It was fun to watch. If there is one negative I take away from this positive game, it's that I wish there were more assists. I haven't looked at the statistics, but my eyes told me that JT and a couple other players could have and probably should have dished the ball off their teammate in the low post area after drawing the defense away from the basket while driving down the lane, rather than attempt to make a shot through multiple defenders. It's a disturbing trend. I feel if they make that one extra pass or if a guy cuts backdoor to the basket while the ball handler drives through the lane, the offense would run much smoother and scoring would be much easier at times. If they can fix this issue, in my opinion, they'd really be well on their way to really gelling as a team.

I have a question, but there's no appropriate place to ask it.
What does anyone think of that stupid NIKE
shirt that seems to be mostly in football,
with the stupid stripe down the back?
I think it's one of the dumbest things they've ever
