Assuming you have the proper input on your TV, then yeah definitely.

Ask a coach about free throws and that just might be the quote you get. It makes me laugh every time I read it.

I watched the Nebraska / Miami game and the crowd reminded me of a Dayton home game. Rams will need to bring the 'A' game to win this one on the road, cant wait until Sunday!

This is the Rams first true road game. It is never an easy task to win on the road in college basketball.

Also watch out for the ODU road game a few days before Christmas. While the Monarchs have not looked as good as expected, they are very tough at home.

Having been to Nebraska a few times...there is nothing better to do.

Jokes aside, they do have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country.

Avery's father, Chris Harriman, left Nebraska at the end of last year to take on the assistant coaching job at New Mexico. UNM would be a good school to play in a home and home series, so If someone from Athletics reads his board, it's an idea worth pursuing in a goal to improve the OOC schedule for next year.

I'm excited to see the Rhode uni's again!
This one is going to be tough, our point of emphasis will be on their two big time scorers again. Shields and now White in place of Petteway. Haven't seen white. But we might match up with Shavon better this year because we got Kuran and Akele. Dan said it's going to come down to how well we do defensively against those two guys.
We did some nice things against Houston, improved in some areas, but never put them away and were terrible from the free throw line. Dan said he thought we were tired in the second half in that one, but that shouldn't be a problem in this game with five days of rest. Dan will have us ready to roll against a team that's likely going to be fired up after a bad loss and a chance to get some revenge against us.

I don't think CT was given a green light to shoot at first. He attempted 5 shots in his first 5 games. The sixth game he hit like 3 of 3 from 3pt against Rider.

Two guys Rhody has to concentrate on stopping, both 6-7 forwards: Andrew White, transfer from Kansas, 17.5 ppg; and Shevon Shields, 15.1 ppg. Shields had 25 points last year in the RC.
No other starters in double figures, Four freshmen are in the rotation.
Refs could come into play. Nebraska shoots it at 72 percent, or 12 points better, than URI from the line.

Thompson's stroke is such an obvious great shooting stroke. Foolish that anyone questioned him when you think about how bad Hassan originally looked at the same period of his career.

Well, with one shot in each of the first five games, and a need for a shooting guard, pretty easy to assume questions would be asked.

URI has made more FTs than their opponents in all but one game this season. Then again, that is just half the story.

EC Matthew would not have improved URI's interior defense. White's defender will not be able to help Sunday.

No opponent has attempted more free throws than Rhode Island in a game this season. The only game URI made less free throws than its opponent was the PC game where both teams had the same number of attempts (13). The other side of the story is that Rhody has missed more free throws than its opponent in all nine games it has played.

URI 147-244 .602 AVG 16.3-27.1
OPP 110-155 .710 AVG 12.2-17.2

URI leaves nearly 11 points on the court with missed free throws each game on average. Opponents miss just 5 FT points. This does not even count misses in the front ends of one and ones which could have led to more free throw attempts.

I hope your job doesn't involve statistics or analytics. You don't apply two variations (URI and OPP) against an improbable outcome (shooting 100% FTs). Using you analysis URI is leaving a differential of 6 points per game (11-5). This is wrong and misleading.

URI shoots .108 below its OPP and takes 27.1 FTA per game. That is 2.9 points per game (.108 x 27.1).

For those of you asking if you can get this on tv, I checked and it's available via the WatchESPN app on your table, phone, computer, etc. WatchESPN is also available on Roku, Apple TV and Chromecast. Probably other media boxes too (Nexus Player? Amazon Fire?).

For the less tech savy, as long as you have the correct inputs on your tv/laptop it should be easy to connect to your tv. For me, I have an HDMI port that I use often to connect the laptop to my tv. Just note that the sound goes through HDMI so you have to go to your audio settings on your laptop to make sure the HDMI is the default (note this has been 50/50 working for me....some times it does, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure why). However, since I have a Roku, I usually use that, or I'll watch it right on my computer (dual monitor setup with one 24'' and one 23'', which is perfect - I can watch the game on one monitor while chatting here on another).

Pretty good assessment overall I would say.

This is the kind of game URI needs [has to?] win, to have on their resume in March.

Being the first true road game, it's likely to be a close one.

They make their FT's, at least 70%, I'd say this will be a win.

Anything less, and this will be the type of game where poor FT shooting will cost them a win, like the Valpo game.

Can't afford any more of those.

Rhody shoots FTs better away from the Ryan Center this year by a significant margin. While the sample size is just 2 games, they shot 67% in Cancun in a less than ideal, non-standard basketball venue. The Rams shoot a horrible 57.6% FT at the Ryan Center this season.

At least today they'll have a different color for the shooting background -- RED.

Article says: "This contest will mark the beginning of Rhode Island's toughest three-game stretch of the season, as they will then face Iona and Old Dominion"

Maybe toughest "so far"...any 3 from the 5 game stretch from 2/12 - 2/27 that begins and ends with Dayton looks pretty challenging, too.

I actually saw an ad for Rhody hoops during the Celtics game last night. Was awesome!
Hopefully, they'll keep it up and do more of those!
