I was wondering how people would find fault with a 21 point lead. But I knew somebody would be able to.

First half was bad, and its always natural as a fan to wine (plenty of cheese) but although its Rider, this second half should be a confidence booster for every player.

Doesn't really matter who you're playing against, as far as shooting goes just seeing the ball go through the net must really boost confidence.

Good Win. Great for Shane at the end there. Thompson hitting 3's is enormous. One more tune up game and then its time to de-throne Kris Dunn.

That is what I wanted to see from Thompson. Take the shots, get aggressive about it. Hopefully he keeps pushing it. He took more attempts this game than in the first 5 total. nice work.

13-28 from 3. I know it's Rider, but what a change.

As said, Thompson showed he can shoot it. That's big.

More time for the frosh, please.

Also, 4 turnovers?

Who are these guys?

I know, it's Rider.

JT and JG still aren't clicking, though.

The more 3's we make, the less pressure on our inside game.

That will help. A lot.

Especially if we have at least 2 guys making them.....

With what we've got, there's always going to be rough spots.

I just want to see us beat a good team, for starters.

Is that possible Saturday night?

Very nice to see Thompson finally show that he in fact can shoot the ball well. and akele as well looked good on his 3.
They are going to need them to play like this against the better teams. Looks like Garrett and Terrell were starting to
get it together near the end of the game too. It was encouraging. Posters say it was rider, but rider gave Maryland all
they could handle on their home court.

Jimmy baron walked through the door today in the form of four. uri is going to need four to cover some of the other areas where we do have issues, so if he wants to be jimmy baron and hit threes from everywhere on the court so be it. How many games during jimmy's tenure would we have lost if he couldn't shoot it from the old cvs marks on the floor?

Uri is a team that had an offense build around a star, and a defense built as a team. They are reworking the offense part of the plan and if that means beating up on cupcakes so they can find the rhythm, go for it. We will see if they figured things out saturday night. Not sure they have in the long run, but at least for this week they will try out this form of offense.

Three things; 1. nice to get a look at Thompson with some open looks, maybe the speed of the game in his head has slowed and taking what came in the flow of the game will help him. 2. If Four continues to light it up, and teams try to take his perimeter game away, we will need an answer. 3. JG is a head scratcher as he seems to drive into traffic......and......

7-25 from our core 3
Dan needs to fix this
They (Jarvis, Jared, Hassan) did good things in other areas of the game but they need to be consistent offensive threats for us to beat good teams

Rhody held Rider to 0.90 Points per Possession while themselves scoring 1.30 PPP, despite just shooting .323 from 2FG (they shot .464 from 3FG).

First game this season where they had more assists than turnovers: 13-4 A/TO.

Just tell them to shoot better or what? I agree that we need better from those guys if we are going to beat anyone good and have a good season, and I'm sure there is some shot selection things to be cleaned up, but if you go 7-25 some of that is just making shots. And we are going to need probably around 25 shots from those guys with no EC - somebody has to shoot.

Back from Kingston.
Gee, 3,320 on a Sunday when the Pats are on at night?
17 shots from front court players out of 51.
Nothing remotely approaching balance.
If Four didn't have the hot hand, I wonder if we'd have won.
Nice to see Thompson break out and hit the 3s.
Iverson filled the stat sheet pretty well.
Martin was invisible on offense again.
Jarvis just doesn't seem like the same player who finished
last season with so much promise.
A nice no doubt win, and a nice way to spend a Sunday
afternoon

Hassan Martin is my co-player of the game with Four McGlynn. I have an appointment with my eye doctor tomorrow to make sure my vision is ok because I swear I just saw Has go 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Just want to make sure I haven't boarded the crazy train just yet. In my Rhody basketball dreams, he only goes 3 for 4 so you can imagine my concern. I mean I'm only in my 30's and I'm already seeing double.
Happy to see the freshman contributing to the offensive production a little.

Need to keep playing the freshman more. The Holy Cross game is another opportunity to really give Thompson and Akele some extended minutes. Bottom line is we will need their offensive skills to beat good teams. I think both of them appear to be decent shooters. Hass wasn't himself today at all. The core three need to improve offensively... Period. What kills me is that I know they are all capable of being average shooters. I'm optimistic that they can get in a groove offensively but the we don't have much time until Saturday. They all played very hard today. I believe in these guys.... I'm hoping someone is working on boosting their confidence.

I know it stings to lose EC but to win by that many points against any other division 1 team is encouraging. Also the reality is even with EC our record could easily be the same right now. I'm excited to see what happens the rest of the way

Honestly, winning big games is the only way you're going to build a solid crowd night in and night out here. Agree with TP that a game like this wasn't going to get a good draw anyways. Wednesday night likely won't either, although better than tonight. In my honest opinion, until conference play begins, beating PC is our last shot at drawing good crowds for the season. Winning against Rider/Holy Cross isn't going to do much, but an in-state rivalry win certainly will. Also, most marquee A-10 games that we have are on the road. Dayton being an exception, and the annual home game against Umass another. Win Saturday, and then complain about crowds if they don't show. If we lose that though, wouldn't be shocked at another season of the familiar semi-full Ryan Center.

Let's go easy on JG. I believe He had a tough week off the court with the birth of twins. I can't imaging what it must be like being a couple thousand miles away, being in my early 20's, and having the birth of my kids not being a bigger worry than a bb game.

Having gone to the Dunk and watched PC play Harvard, and if PC plays man defense, and if Dunn guards either one, I don't see either one having the breakout game against PC. I was impressed by his pressure on the ball defense, deflects with wing span, and overall defense. Whomever he defends will be a challenged matchup.....No?
