Can't find a betting line on the American U game. Has anyone seen one anywhere?

As of now, there is still no line. Anyone have a line prediction?

I'm not sure that Vegas releases betting lines for games involving Patriot League teams. Many of the smaller conferences won't have a line with their games unless it's tournament time.

That sounds about right. My guess is about 16.
FWIW - Valpo is favored at home by 17 against the IPFW Mastodons

That's so crazy to me, never heard anything like that but I suppose it makes sense being that we can't find a line anywhere.

There is a spread on the Navy game but other than that I don't see any other from the Patriot League. 18 or so sounds right (Old Dominion is 19 pt favorites vs Niagara - similar match up I think?). I'd stay away until I see a couple games (which I will be at and counting the hours).

Navy may have a spread because they are part of the Armed Forces Classic, believe all tournaments (except maybe conference tournaments) can have spreads for games.

If I had to guess an opening line for tonight, I would guess -15, but probably would close between -12 and -13. I've found that most games to start seasons tend to close around the KenPom prediction, right wrong or indifferent. KenPom had URI -11, that would be a steal.

FWIW, Abu Bakr tweeted that he thought URI would win by 20.

agree with RJ, something in the 12-14 range sounds more right for this time of year. especially given AUs methodical style which hypothetically could result in less possessions.

Kenpom has the line at -11. This early in the year you will often see the kenpom line pretty close to an actual sportsbook. Lot easier to grab a line from kenpom than try to figure out URI/American on 11/13. If one comes out later, I could see it being close to that. Maybe 12/13.

Well if you need to get your gambling fix, you could lay 10.5 on the Hofstra pride taking on the Jim Baron's of Canisius.

Not likely to see a line. I know with these smaller conferences, the visibility and knowledge bookmakers have is far less than that of mid-major/major conferences. It gives a bit more of an edge to someone familiar with the Patriot League/MEAC/SWAC type conferences, which is a bookmakers worst enemy. Interested to see what it will be for Valpo on Tuesday though. Let's just enjoy what hopes to be the tip-off to a great season tonight.

I think college basketball is the hardest to consistently win at. So many games are 15-16 point games and then scrubs come in and the other team hits a few meaningless threes. Or it's a 5 point line and the game is tight the whole way before the FTs start the last minute. If I was going to bet, I would lay the points, but nothing really would surprise me other than an outright loss.
