A10 in the National Polls 2015-16

Seems about right. It wouldn't have surprised me if URI had gotten a few low ballot votes either, but I didn't think any A-10 teams would be ranked heading into the season.

Uri received 17 votes in the AP top 25 Poll, coming in at # 37. Dayton received 12 votes and is #38.
Providence received 10 votes.
In the coaches Poll Dayton received one vote and URI none which showsthat there is little consensus
of opinion at this point. I think the AP Poll is a good starting point for URI to be at because at least
they are already on the radar and it won't take much to lift them into the top 25 if they start the
season well. Being on the radar starting a season does make a perceptual difference to the voters.

While the pre-season poll means very little, it is nice to see that URI is at least mentioned as one of the top 40 teams in the country. I wonder how the board would feel if URI finishes the season with the same ranking (37 and receiving votes) ? Would this be viewed as a successful season?

Presuming we stay relatively healthy, I'd be disappointed if we didn't make the NCAAs. Our final ranking is less important to me.

Seth Davis surprisingly had no A10 teams in his top 25, yet put Iona at 25th. Did he not see what we did to them last year?!?
