I sure will.
Bob knows the value of this board, even though he's only
posted here once.
He does read it now and then.
Nobody has done more for Rhody basketball over the years
than Bob and his old pal Frank Caruso.

cut them off! Move to South County! Work with Vin Baker! Then teach basketball.

Not to say I know what someone should do. BUT its obvious he loves basketball and people. Teaching basketball on some level would probably be something to carry him into old age.

My friend, John Fultz was talking about how his
cocaine addiction was the toughest battle he's ever
had.
He says it began in LA, when he was with the Lakers during
a summer. The drugs were found in his locker and he got cut.
LA environs are tough, because drugs are so much a part
of the glitz culture out there.
He's trying to reach out to Lamar, too.
I wonder. If a person doesn't want to defeat their
demons, no other person can do it for them.
It's all up to Lamar, if he wants to go clean and
get his life in order.

Agreed, Rhody74.

I think if (and when) Lamar makes it through this crisis he should hook up with Chris Herren. Between the two of them they could impart quite the powerful message about the dangers of depression and drug addiction if left untreated. If anyone can relate to what Lamar is going through, it's Chris.

I'm skeptical that Lamar will dump the cling-ons. He seems to enjoy this role. If he is really supporting that many people, he is headed into Antoine Walker status.

More good news, although it sickens me that so much of the coverage of Lamar's situation has been ceded to the entertainment media by the sports media. The guy is a world class athlete, not reality TV cannon fodder.

The Kardashians, lead by manipulative mother, Kris,
are a national disgrace.
To think some magazine put them on a cover as
"American Royalty"!
Its sad that reality shows like theirs are actually popular.
They are famous for nothing in particular, except maybe Kim's
porn tape and her giant butt.
All part of the dumbing down of America.
Too bad Lamar got entangled in their staged melodrama.

How many people that watch that show have any awareness of that fact? Three or four, maybe?

In fairness when I think of royalty I think of people that are rich and famous simply because of who their parents are, so that sounds pretty accurate to me.

There's some evidence to suggest that OJ gave RK had the murder weapon and was essentially added to the legal team so he wouldn't become a witness. As the story goes RK had this mysterious package that after his death he wanted sent to the Goldmans but you know who fought turning it over when push came to shove.

We know Lamar has pulled out of a harrowing health crisis. But we have no idea how healthy he is.I'm no fan of the Kardashians, though I admit that they are marketing geniuses.
Lamar seems very caught up in their world. In the end he is a 35-year-old man who will have make his own way.

Hope this doesn't come off as insensitive..

But if Lamar is feeling better and able to fly at some point this season..

We should invite him to a game and market it to ESPN

Would be great press and also would be supportive to Lamar

Maybe even we can have other events surrounding the visit

Like hopefully Lamar becoming sober and giving a talk about staying off of drugs

Lamar should always be welcome in Kingston and the URI community should do anything we can to help him, and if he wants to come home to URI to get out of the hot lights of L.A., I think that would be great. But promoting that would seem to completely defeat that purpose.

I have no problem with Lamar returning to URI. But marketing via ESPN? Sounds crass. We still have no idea how healthy he truly is. Just seems to me he could use some time out of the spotlight to get his life on track. But I'm sure the Kardashians would love to record Lamar's recovery ...with Khloe as the heroine.
ECR, I appreciate that you want to celebrate Lamar on the mend. But I think he needs a rest from reality TV. Addiction is brutal, and Lamar is in for the fight of his life.

ECR, are you serious? First of all, there is a thread for this and secondly, are you serious? Use the guy some more right? Also according to what I've read Odom had multiple (12) strokes, there is a very good chance he never recovers at least not 100%, and it would certainly be a minor miracle if he is up for a game this season, but as soon as he recovers, heck we don't need 100% we'll take 50% just roll him out onto center court, let's market the shit out of it right? You must be a lawyer. Lawyer crack aside, nothing personal, but you must realize I'm not a fan of your suggestion.

So what you guys are saying is that you hate the idea, right ?

Haha..

All good.. My bad.. I didn't mean harm about it..

I think my words prob came off as not my full intention..

I wrote it on the train, so prob should have thought about it better

To put things in context, and this is a true story, I saw the Instagram from Lamar and didn't look at the date.. I mistook it as a recent post, not as a 9/29/15 post

Anyways, I'll go back to analyzing uniforms .. I get in less trouble that way..

To those I insulted, I'll buy you a beer.. PC game on a Saturday - so I hope to drive up early and get to the Mews..

Have fun at Rhody Madness

Thought I'd post this. I was at the Warwick Mall today and thought I saw Lamar Odom. He passed me quickly and said hello. This guy had a knit hat on, covering a lot of his face. If it wasn't him, it was his double.
Wondering if anyone has heard anything about him being back in RI.

I just read yesterday that he still gets very confused and sometimes can't remember his own name. I doubt he'd be out on his own.

Lamar must still be on drugs if he went to Kayne West fashion show willingly. I would tell the entire Kardashian clan (or klan to them) to suck a bag of dicks, but that's a normal Wednesday night for them.

Every time I see there's a new post in this thread, I think it's something bad. Well, I guess the fact that he's still hanging out with the Kardashian is bad. But I mean something health related.
