New Uniforms 2015-16

This is the first thing I haven't liked since Dan Hurley has got here. Not a fan of the new unis, but what do I know. Still waiting for those Odom night train navy/keaney uniforms to make a come back.

Guess we can't win at everything.

Edit: I'm softening my stance. I think I like these. Rhode Islanders are allergic to change, probably what I'm going through. Just need to adjust.

First look, I don't really like them either. The blue strips look awkward and not needed.

I like the blue piping, but the numbers will be tough to read.
I wish we'd go back to the real Keaney Blue instead of the
crappy road uniforrn color we've been using.

Well, I'm glad they are simple rather than crazy looking

I think they look fine, but I need to see more

Looks like there is actually true Keaney blue in the unis

The font on the #s seem too big tho

Other than that - they seem fine

Ugly. Always really weird when the numbers are a different color than the letters. Doesn't look right at all. I really liked last years - I thought the Miami Heat lettering was awesome. This years aren't that good. Hopefully this is the last year before Nike.

Agree that numbers and letters should be the same color, and that numbers are too big. Otherwise, this is getting closer to what I'd like. (Also not a huge italics guy, but don't want to complain too much.)

As much as I am not inspired by the home unis, I don't hate them and I have a weird amount of hope for the road unis based on the concept.

I think I've done a complete 180 on these uniforms. At first, I thought they were awful and now I actually kind of like them. That being said, I agree with Blue Man and would love to see the late 90's uniforms make a comeback.

Aren't we switching to Nike after this year anyways? So, we'll have these uniforms for one year, and then get brand new Nike uniforms next year.

I wouldn't count on that. These things are more complicated than they seem.

Any particular reason you say this Blue Man? The Adidas deal runs through June 30th, Dan has the right to negotiate separately from the rest of the athletic department and he's seemed to want to get rid of Adidas.

Because it's complicated. That's as much as I will say. I bet Blue Man will agree.

In the end, I would trust in that Dan and Athletics Admin are doing what's best for the program.

(shouldn't we have that switch turned on in our brains by now?)

It's not that I distrust Dan, as a matter of fact I've been one of the sunnier posters on this board over the last year and a half in terms of the basketball program. I guess I just don't see what's really complicated with a contract ending and starting the bidding on a new one. It seems pretty cut and dry, and if Nike, Under Armour, Adidas and the like don't already have proposal ideas for when URI's on the open market I imagine they could put them together pretty quickly. It frankly seems to be the very opposite of complicated. We know the end date of the Adidas deal, we know Dan can negotiate on behalf of the basketball program separate from the athletic department as a whole, these companies negotiate deals like this everyday, and if we know the end date and who has the power to negotiate I'm sure the relevant companies do as well.

I'm hoping the 3rd jersey is a '98 throwback to be worn for the Valparaiso game and a select few outside of that.

That's all I'm saying. You never know that one company could value us higher than another. Adidas may not want to lose us and might throw us a really impressive offer, whereas some of the other companies could potentially not want to offer us as much.

I'm not saying anything in particular, just that you can't predict how these things work out, and I wouldn't assume anything is a done deal with regards to leaving one and going to another.

Oh ok, that makes sense. When I read what you first wrote I misinterpreted it as potential roadblocks to the process behind the scenes, not that Adidas very well could have the best offer. My mistake.

On the other hand, this could be a sign that we are sticking to Adidas by getting new jerseys the year before our contract runs out. Who knows. As long as they win in them, I don't care what they look like.

Not crazy about them. I like them better than the last ones.
Still, addidas needs to step their game up. Nike is killing them right now. Nike uniforms are just better looking.
These jerseys are pretty alright though.
Would favor something more akin to the late 90's look we had.
