With regards to the players, lots has already been said about Gilvydas, TJ, and even Eric because of the timing of everything but Jarrelle and Biggie contributed as well to help re-establish this program. It's nice to see so many from that first recruiting class (and the one they wouldn't let leave!) together and successful. The system isn't perfect, but that picture represents a lot of what can be right in basketball.

For Biggie, personally, I'm just so proud of him- he started out and spent two years at a Philly high school that graduates only about 40% of its students. He was a very late qualifier in his first year at Texas Tech, and I know some questioned bringing him on since the program was so close to APR sanctions. He's a guy who has twice taken advantage of what basketball can provide. It first helped him get into a better high school and later provided him the support needed to get set up to get that degree, but he's the one who did the work.

There's a lot to love about that picture. All of those guys represented themselves and their school very well. I wish them all the best in whatever comes next.

Love the sun glasses. I think Gil (and the others, of course) will do very well in life.
As much as we may get on our kids while they're on the floor, it's always satisfying to seem them reach their ultimate goal, graduation.
I didn't attend the ceremony this year. But, I wonder if anyone told the graduates that "life is like a winding river." That was big in my day. lol

It sure is a winding river, and winding all the time!

Congrats to the graduates. I can't believe I'm up on nine years now :| :o

I'm always reminded with threads like these and events like at the country club how pleasant this group of young men are representing our University.

Check out these pictures from graduation. They're all great, but the 7th one might be the best thing you see all day.

Agreed. When Dan talks about his Rhody basketball family, you can clearly see what he's talking about.
