The friar board can't bring themselves to even imagine that anyone would turn down the big east. They still entertain the delusions that the league is a dominant one...NCAA Tourney proved that to be a fantasy. (Dayton 66 PC 53) Interesting how they seem to know that Hurley was 2nd choice, huh...? Sure...St.John's was thinking..."Let's go with an alum and former NBA start who hasn't coached a day in his life and pray that he can recruit rather than go after a guy that has proven that he can both coach and recruit in two difficult coaching positions where he had to rebuild entire programs...." Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

As far as DiSano goes...I will take his sources over any fabricated nonsense that is put forth on the PC board.

I just downloaded podcast addict from the play store. Took me a minute to figure it out but it has this and every other podcast that they have done.

Sorry Ramulous...I thought that might be the case, but with all the BS being thrown on the PC board I wanted to be sure...there is no better and impartial source of info on the A-10 and the local scene than Chris.

Re: podcasts on the Android, I use Podkicker because it's a fairly small program and pretty bare bones, which I like. It does have a "search" feature, and you can use that to find the Projo podcast, or, you can manually enter in their RSS feed thingy.

PocketCasts is the go-to podcast app for Android, and it's not close.

Regarding Hurley, I'm glad he's staying put. The timing didn't just seem right to move just as we're about the make all his (and the team's) efforts of the last 3 years come to fruition.

The best is the bolded line. His MO always was, i like college basketball, i go to URI games, and some other passive aggressive crap -- the venom is obvious, we need him like we need ISIS moving into South County. Keep him out, its much better here already.

And moving forward screw them, besides the 1 time we play them next year they dont matter, we have much bigger objectives as a fan base and program. NCAA or BUST!

I don't think there is proof anyone turned them down...there may have been a loss of interest on one side or the other...

Rumor was the administration wanted claws into assistants. Both Drew and Hurley turned down the offers.

I don't understand why schools want to dictate a coach's assistants .... unless there are serious legal or ethical problems like Sandusky at Penn State. Especially with an experienced coach like Rick Barnes.

Contract details should come out today or tomorrow. Can't wait!

Also, as a side-note, went to the Scout PC board and read the Hurley thread. Puke city. Those people are unbearable. Won't go on that board again.

Computer problems knocked me off for a few weeks. The Hurley news is refreshing. We're used to the opposite result. Dan will go someday but he has more to accomplish here. This has been a great hire especially after the doldrum years. The cynic in me says Dan got himself a great deal by turning down a shot at a job that he wouldn't have gotten over Chris Mullin. But the result is terrific in any case.
