Hurley is expected to sign the extension early this week. The Post reported on Friday that Hurley had interest in the job.

So peeps, you can get all excited when virtually all trusted voices in the media name Dan Hurley as a top-two candidate for the vacancy, but you call foul because he wasn't handed a stack of papers to sign? Whatever. Cuz he told them to go screw.

So you are saying he wasn't going to be interviewed had he REALLY wanted the job? Are you going on the record saying that?

As a wise one just said, there are now 3 A10 coaches that have spurned Big East interest - Shaka, Archie and now Dan. When would that have ever happened in old BE. Still a gap in profile and resources but smaller than ever especially at the top of each league.

St. John's has offered Chris Mullin the opportunity to be its next head basketball coach and he is expected to accept, multiple sources say.

yeah they were definitely going to offer hurley over mullin, a legend at SJU.

but if hurley "spurning" SJU is the story that makes you sleep better at night...

and FWIW you would get 50% or more of the posters at scout pulling their hair out over the cooley hire.

Funny, yesterday, they said there was no way Hurley
was coming back.

actually every story yesterday was about how hurley would definitely listen and was interested in SJU. those stories did not read that he was a leading candidate by the school (right or wrong as far as best choice).

I have no dog in this fight, and I hope the best for you all and Hurley, but our guys have always said that Mullin is #1 on our list and in 48 hours something would come out(if he accepts or not). Both have turned out to be true.

I like Hurley more than Mullin and he seems like a loyal coach who would only leave for the right choice (let's be honest, every coach would leave for their dream job). This is my last post here. Hoping the best for you guys and hoping to see y'all in the tourney next year (no matter if we make it or not).

Yeah, that one point win two years ago with us having the last shot
was a real ass kicking.
Beating Baron's 7 win team and Dan's first 8 win team, really tough.
Bet you were shitting your pants when we cut the lead to 3 near the end this year.

So peeps enlighten us please, how do you know that St. John's didn't offer the job to Mullin after being told of Hurley's extension at URI. Seeing as the Mullin offer announcement comes just a few hours after the Hurley extension is out there. Since you have all the facts on the situation, I'd love to hear how it all played out.

No, you posted here today for a few reasons, First, because you are obviously upset that Hurley is remaining at URI and for some reason you view irrelevant and insignificant URI as a threat. Second, you are still hurting from getting absolutely dismantled and thoroughly out-coached by an A10 team in the tournament and lastly you're a tool.

It is at the very least antithetical to the purpose of higher education.
