I watched the URI-SLU game from home this afternoon on the flat screen, and saw the marriage proposal on the television, and at the time I thought it was great.

When I and Mrs Native went to a restaurant for our own Valentines Day celebration later after the game, the wedding proposal at the Ryan Center was one of the topics of conversation, and my wife expressed that she too was touched by the thought of the surprise proposal in a luxury skybox during a Rams home basketball game.

But to get home, check the box score on GoRhody.com, read Bill Koch's two articles on ProJo.com, and then read KeaneyBlue.com to catch up on the post-game comments, only to discover that it was BlueMan that popped the question, that was PRICELESS.

Congrats to you, BlueMan! You are indeed the man.

Best wishes to you both for the happily-ever-after you deserve.

Hahaha thank you all so much! Seriously the assist goes to the entire athletic department for making this day what it was...we ran into each other at the December 2012 game against UVM that her dad was singing at (we also won) and really only knew each other in college from basketball games.

The positivity is more a reflection of the team being in first place...and now we have to be a team of destiny...right!?

If we keep this up I'll get engaged every game if we need to.

I got the girl...now all I want is a damn A 10 title!!

BlueMan, we had 205 roaring after the horn sounded for the 16min media timeout when they learned that you'd be "featured" in the McKay's promo. Then it happened!!

Haha she's as big of a fan as I am - legit. It probably would have put a damper on the day for both of us lol.

She just has what they call..the social skills...and she's good at being an adult, both of which don't make her look like a deranged lunatic when things don't go well. This was a consideration into picking the game. It just so happened that we were playing a very winnable game on Valentine's day...almost like it was meant to be.

Haha I stayed away from the board all yesterday and last night because I couldn't watch the game until late night on DVR. I saw the proposal and was like "I think that might be Blue Man, but nah probably not that would be crazy." So damn cool man, congrats!

By the way, it's close to impossible to avoid seeing the outcome of games these days. I basically had to cut off myself from the world for the day.

In the category of its a small world...the ESPN anchor (Bram) who presented that highlight is a fraternity brother and friend of mine.
