Jordan Hare

Does anyone know FOR SURE his status. I have seen statements that it was thought he cleaned out his locker, not working out, not on campus... What is going on??

We need him!!!!!!

I hate to say this, but if he is indeed gone, it's because he sees the writing on the wall, meaning little PT next year.

That also means he isn't willing to put in the work necessary to get PT. Hurley is tough, if you don't work hard, you're not going to get everything handed to you.

Hare could be a very useful backup on this team. If he wants to be. Losing him won't help.

One more thing. If he's left school, that's not going to help his grades. That's not good.

There are some circumstances in Hare's life,
which could be distracting him.
Let's wait and see what happens.

Let's not jump to any conclusions. I think Jordan can still have a bright future with the Rams. Hopefully he can't get through the personal stuff and get back to work. He still has a tremendous updside to his game.

I want Jordan to do what is best for him, and I hope that is to stay at URI. I still think he can be a very good player.

Maybe there's a gag order out, until something is resolved. Then we'll know.

Hurley protects his kids. I imagine that's what he is doing.

One other possibility, not good for us. Maybe Dan's working on finding Jordan another school to transfer to.

Eli, you can rest assured that if a member of our community had any information that they were at liberty to share, that info would be here without someone specifically asking for it. His status was the subject of much discussion in the "Transfers" thread. Maybe that should have been separated out so it is easier to find, but if you're curious about what has been said about Jordan, you should check there.

He has a class across the hall from me Mon-Wed-Fri. He was there last Friday, I didn't notice on Monday. I'll let you guys know if I see him tomorrow. Mike Aaman is also in the class.

I think we did a poll once, but the vast majority of the people on this board are in the 25 to 65 age range. Meaning, not on campus on a daily basis. While there are a couple people close to the program who post on here, typically you're least likely to get rumors posted on the personal and academic lives of students, as opposed to, say, the head coach.

Amen to that.

Back when I was in school, a friend of mine and I made a bet. The bet was, who could cut more classes in a week?

I won. I missed them all. My friend went to one. Pretty stupid bet, huh?

I knew if I didn't go to any, I couldn't lose. Smart guy.

I don't know what he was thinking.

I know my first post started the hare rumor mill, and i got that info from athletes from another team that said they have not seen on campus. But good news. I hare he is coming back. From a very reliable source.. Everything was cleared with the people it needed to be cleared with. And I personally am glad he is coming back. I feel he will be a big part in our future A10 championships.

My point about whether or not he was seen in class, was more like, "is he still on campus?", as opposed to, "is he back in Michigan?"

Not giving up, however I said at the outset on the eyeball test, I was expecting more than he delivered and the progress was few steps forward then back......the development has got to be on ball handling, passing outside, footwork around the hoop, etc. etc.....I am confident the coaches will concentrate on the basic skills they need him to demonstrate in years 2-4.....if there's not significant progress between year 1 and 2, it will be disappointing.....

If the ability is there, Dan will find a way to get it out of him. As long as Hare is willing to work for it.

That's 2 big ifs. Next year will tell for sure.

They should hire someone to folow Jordan around all day and stuff food in his mouth....I think he can be an effective player defensively and get some garbage points offensively. But he definitely needs to add 20-30 lbs. to avoid getting pushed around underneath. I'm glad he's staying.

I thought he was something less than advertised. But he showed glimpses. With experience and nutrition and a weight program, he could be very good in a year or two. If a guy 6-10 is truly polished in high school, he is probably going to Kentucky and not URI. Like Merlins Noel, another guy Baron whiffed on.

Nerlens Noel, was the number one player for 2012 recruiting.
Baron? Not on the same planet.
Anyway, as I've said before, let Hare move in my house.
I can put weight in a skeleton, let alone someone needing 25-30 lbs.

Very good news. I keep saying this, but I feel like its important. Lets remember there was absolutely nothing around him as a supporting cast last year. I think playing next to Biruta and Big O moving forward could be a huge help. He wont be alone down low anymore.
