Two Questions

1. Does anyone know why PMs get stuck in the outbox?

2. Is there going to be a year end dinner for the basketball team,
like they did when CFL was here?

I can answer the first one. When PMs are in the "Outbox" it simply means the recipient has not read it yet. Once it's viewed by the recipient, it shows up in Sent items. Someone must be ignoring you, Rod.

I'd be interested in attending a dinner to support the team.

steviep - I like your avatar! Can't believe there isn't more love for one of the best logos in all of sports. Even our own board has removed the classy ram logo for the boring interlocking RI. The interlocking RI isn't bad, but I love the ram logo.

Re: the site logo, URI Athletics doesn't use the Ram head logo anymore. I like both so I don't see a problem w it.

I like the Ram logo too, but the Banner changes with the times. I use it for my account on the A10 board:

I don't mind the two tone interlocking RI, but I love the Ram Head much better. I'm not sure why they changed (unless they are totally moving away from the past?).

I can't find any use of the Ram Head logo anywhere on official Rhody Athletics media. I heard yesterday from someone in the Athletics Dept very close to the team that the new floor's design is being finalized and it should be really nice.

I was thinking that one reason they may want to use the interlocking RI more is that it is a better branding tool. There is no way someone could see the RI and not think "Rhode Island," whereas the ram head could be much more ambiguous. Considering that, I don't have a problem with them transitioning to the interlocking RI for branding purposes when interacting with the outside world, but I hope they continue to use the ram head internally, at least. I really think it is a great design and it would be a shame to see it totally eradicated.

VCU's old Ram head logo was also phased out for similar reasons. Their new court design simply has VCU in bold type on the center jump area.

I believe that's the rough explanation I got from marketing when I asked why they changed it a couple years ago. I still use some of the old logos and graphics for Patch stuff though, since they just fit better at times. (The site tends to display squares better, and some of their new logos and banners are much more rectangular.)
