The players made rounds at fraternities and sororities around campus but not to the dorms. With the largest class of freshman being welcomed why not go talk to those freshman. (3,100 freshmen and 550 transfer students). And not many students are aware of the seating change or the new way to get in to the games.

Rhody4012016: Is this what you're referring to - that apparently didn't happen?????

By KEVIN McNAMARA JOURNAL SPORTS WRITER

SOUTH KINGSTOWN — When T.J. Buchanan and his teammates started knocking on dormitory doors all over the University of Rhode Island campus in recent days, the reactions they received were exactly what they hoped for.
“They knew who we were,” said Buchanan. “They opened the door kind of surprised, like ‘What’s going on?’ We just told them ‘You won a pizza! Now you have to come out and support us.’ ”

That McNamara can't get ANYTHING correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They definitely went to some dorms. I saw photos of it on Twitter.

They did not stop at my dorm. Unless they did it during Columbus day weekend or only certain dorms. I'm surprised they didn't mention it during MM. I just hope I get my spot during games among all these new kids that want to sit and be on their phones.

I'm sure thats true. I would be surprised if they were able to knock on every single door on campus. Hopefully its something they continue to do throughout the season if time allows.

Richmond's Robbins Center has been getting a major facelift and modernization over the offseason. They held an open house once the new HD video boards in all 4 corners were installed and operational. Ryan Center will be transformed next season if we're all goes well.

Great job, Spiders!

New DLP video scorer's table display is in and installed at the Ryan Center!

Here's more info on this type of court side display. It is essentially 10 side-by-side 50" diagonal 1080p DLP HDTVs with ruggedized screens.

Me, I'm just trying to grab some tickets west of you in 204. I can't make every game due to work, so they are going to be indy's.

Maybe I'll try to sneak in with the Horny Bastards.

205 is the spot to be this year. The brain trust of this board, along with myself and a few others decided that will no longer be the gray haired section where everyone sits on their hands.

I think Milan is somewhere on our side, too.
Happy to be on the less traveled side, too.
Now, I can see our offense in the second half, and catch Hurley's antics.
Although, he said he won't be as wild as he was last year.
We'll see about that.

Good question, but only on the east side where scoring and timing are located.

Opposite side has courtside seats.

Dan Yorke is back, as far as I know, as such, he did the intro's at the Alpine event......I see his efforts as a work in progress, for me, I do not want an over the top screamer, but that said, some creative utterances as appropriate as the homer in charge at the mic, someone we can call a
the professional voice of the Ryan Center.

Cannot say enough good things about the quick turn around of the URI band.

Bravo.

Also, can't wait for the new scoreboard next year. Because it's pretty lame looking up at the tiny boards we have now.

Our scoreboard infuriates me.......no immediate update on the scoring by player, who is in the game, fouls on players...it is an embarrassment....

So many times players come in and their stats are not immediately changed.....it is the only arena I have been to that is this bad.....

Ha ha at least they were out in force!

The loudest of the nite was when the little no 2 from CLCF went coast to coast in the mini kiddie game at half time. That kid has future all state for either CW or CE written all over him! Most of those kids were pretty good actually, that was pretty fun. Next time shut off the music and let the kids feel the crowd noise!

Yorke was back - he was better but please explain to him on a 1 and 1 he doesn't need to announce "he has one more" = weak.

The video boards are so obsolete, mandatory upgrade.

+1. There's a lot the students have to work on, but this didn't make it any easier, neither did the music always blasting over the PA half a second after anything good happened.

Dan Yorke, for me, remains a work in progress; however, the end of the OJT is in sight.....As I/ve opined above that I do not want a over the top homer/screamer but a professional, dignified voice of the RC......the jury is out....ordering lunch one more time.....my guess is, he lasts the season.....

Jay, you heard him botch Biruta's name at Alpine too? That was one of the points I made when I asked if Yorke was getting any help w pronounciations.

Mancuso took the job seriously and studied/prepared so he always sounded professional. Yorke is winging it for the paycheck.

I've never had any issues with him in the past but I believe I heard him butcher Big O's name and Gil's last name (he said "Birutus") at friday's game. What a joke. If i can pronounce their names correctly then he definitely should be able to
