I'll never forget the look that Daniels gave him after fouling out of his last game (Creighton). It didn't take an FBI profiler to read his lips as he passed CFL going to the bench. He definitely wasn't saying "Thanks for being a great coach."
Will Daniels only had 3 fouls in the Creighton game:

STARTERS MIN FGM-A FTM-A OFF REB AST PF	PTS
W. Daniels, F	24 4-10 7-10 2 3 0 3 16

I told you, Baron kept him out because he had three fouls.
What an idiot! 24 minutes because he had three fouls!
When the game ended, was when you could read Will's lips,
looking right at Baron and giving him the F-bomb.

Rod, didn't he sit for the last 12 minutes?

That's what's so absurd about the whole thing. Did he say something to Baron when he went to the bench before that?

I mean, with 3 fouls and a dwindling lead, he should have been sent back out there with at least 6-8 minutes to go.

Baron didn't care, I guess. But with the season on the line, it was totally inexcusable. Baron just never had a clue when it came to the flow of the game, and if his assistants tried to help, he ignored them.

Wasn't there some kind of altercation on the plane ride back?

I remember he sat until like a minute and something left, and the lead was gone.
Guess because CFL had a big lead, he was going to show the world that
he didn't need Wil Daniels.
After that game, I decided that Baron needed to go.

Yeah, I guess he was trying to teach his best player a "lesson" of some kind. And it blew up in his face.

My error. I guess when you get older, the knees aren't always the first things to go. I thought he fouled out of that one. 3 fouls only makes it worse, though.

Reef, CFL just didn't screw Will. He screwed the team, the fans, and the school.

There should have been an investigation into his behavior. Of course, since he was CFL, they did nothing, but they should have at least reprimanded him.

I created a sortable excel spreadsheet for the transfers, that I'd upload if I could. Is there a data share folder in the forum somewhere? If so I could upload to there. The spreadsheet is easier to navigate than the website list.

I'm hearing a lot of general descriptions of players, and maybe
where they're from, but no names or specifics.
Suddenly, it's like the CFL years, where there's silence on recruits.
Other than Zeigler, who we may not even be recruiting, I haven't
heard a peep.
Very different than the fall, when there were plenty of tweets, stories, and
tangible knowledge of what was happening.

I gave Herbert Hill an earful one night at a pizza place about how Will Daniels was head and shoulders above anyone in New England that year.

Only things I didnt like about Daniels game
1. He didnt move so smooth. I didnt like how he ran or something. Lots of wasted motion. His elbows and knees kind of were all over the place.
2. He didnt get to take every shot. I thought he was unstoppable from any position on the court.
3. The coaching not just running everything through him. Khalif Wyatt? Hes an extremely smart player, but if WD was coached to just own the whole game like that, he was certainly capable.

Milan used to say Will reminded him of Sly, because of the pigeon-toed walk they both had.
Will was good at getting into the passing lane and stealing. Got a lot of baskets that way.
Remember Jimmy was on that team with Will, and no way CFL was letting Will
take over games.
He was a bull, and should have played on the next level. Just not much coaching in his
formative years.

By the way, yesterday was the first day of "live period", when coaches can go see
recruits.
Maybe things will heat up?

I thought I read that Dan's extension may not be signed until later in the weekend because he will be on the road recruiting, so they are certainly not done trying for this class.

Will reminded me of Sly, too. He had a lot of his mannerisms. Gee, I wonder if Sly would have averaged the same minutes under the "Destroyer of Programs?"

Comparing Sly and Will is crazy. And Will was not an NBA caliber player.

Playing style, Iggy, playing style.....especially that drive to the basket where they both would shoot on the way down instead of at the apex of the jump....and being lefties....Sly had more talent....

I wouldn't be surprised if we took another transfer considering we already have six new players coming in

Dan seemed to leave the door open in today's Projo in not filling all the scholarships. And he said it was difficult to recruit when you have 11 players who all have a shot at playing. Hurley is a much better recruiter than Baron obviously, but if you look at URI's late signings over the years, they don't usually turn out to be stars.

If Rutgers doesn't hire a coach soon, there will be more.

I guess whoever they end up hiring, is going to want a major challenge, because that's what they'll get.

But a challenge that pays well, at least. Although I mentioned in another thread, Rutgers is going to have to raise their offer, to get anybody any good.

I doubt Bobby and Dan would directly compete for the same transfer.

I would think Dan would have the edge if he wants him, but is he a fit here? If not, then it might be Buffalo.

Nice player. 6"2" guard. Would probably have to sit a year,
which would give us a solid replacement for X Munford.

Some basketball people are advocating for these Rutgers players to be eligible immediately, but I would imagine that's a long shot.

Then again, it's hard to figure these NCAA decisions sometimes.
