STEPH CURRY!

Unread post by rodfromcranston »

I rarely watch the NBA during the regular season.
Tonight I watched OKC-Golden State.
Just some incredible talent playing in this game.
Russell Westbrook is an amazing athlete.
Kevin Durant is the best shooting big man I've ever seen.
He's so smooth.
However, the most incredible of them all is
Steph Curry.
He rolled his ankle in missed most of the 3rd quarter,
then came back and scored 46 points, including a game winning
35 footer.
He shot one with a 7 footer in his face.
Curry tied an NBA record of 12 3's in a game.
More remarkable (GET THIS!) h Curry is 21 for his last 30 from 3!
Think about that.
If a center did that at point blank range it would be great.
Not to mention his magician like ball handling and passing.
Gotta be the most fun to watch player in the world.

Here's possibly THE most ridiculous stat of all:
Steph Curry is shooting 66% (35-for-53) on shots bewteen 28 feet & half court...66%!

I'm not even sure he's human at this point. He sets up to take these shots from so far out, and you just expect him to make them. I hope Davidson goes ahead and retires his number. They've said no so far because he didn't technically graduate, but c'mon.

He's getting this weird criticism from older players who are out of the game. It makes them look so petty. Just enjoy the greatness.

Curry is just mind-boggling. I'm curious as to whether he's a singular, generational talent, or whether he's the first prominent guy in the NBA that will usher in players regularly shooting from 25, 30, even 35 feet out. On a local level, heck, we even saw Jimmy Baron take some shots from ridiculous lengths because he was open. Going forward, the emphasis might be more on "are you open?" more so than "are you close to the line?"

It's funny when the hardcore NBA personnel yell about how Steph Curry's insane talent is harmful to the youth of America.
It's great to see a shooter and small guy succeed as the star, not a guy who needs to bull through the paint like a linebacker and get the benefit of the whistle.
